Influences	David comes from a strong folk blues origin. His musical influences are Howling Wolf, Elizabeth Cotton, Big Bill Broonzy, Nick Drake and Roy Harper etc... but his poetic/lyrical influences are Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman and Arthur Rimbaud.

About David 9 Lunas

David grew up in north London from 4 years old. Being the youngest son in a large West Indian family of 9 and having to cope with the death of his mother at a very young age he sort comfort in rhymes and word play. A love of poets like Emily Dickinson and Walt Witman fuels his songs. At 17 he developed an acoustic style similar to that of Big Bill Bronzy, Taj Mahal and Joni Mitchell. By the time he was 22 he had moved to Ireland, "I learnt the magic of story telling for 10 years there ; something that the Irish have so strong in their history". A great believer in exploring what may scare him most , his live performances are precariously balanced between confidence and conflict. A student of shape shifting vocals and almost faultless groove he continues to be inventive with his song writing especially through live performances as a hardcore professional soloist .
