Despite being involved in a variety of band efforts, the first time David Andrew Wiebe ever graced the stage as a solo artist was in the summer of 2003. At the time, he simply presented a handful of guitar instrumental pieces, with no foreknowledge of where that would lead.
In 2005, he would go on to perform more frequently as a solo artist, and in addition to his guitar playing, he also began singing in concert. This marked a drastic transition in his career.
On September 8, 2006 Wiebe would go on to release his first solo album, Shipwrecked... My Sentiments. This album showcased his frantic fret-work and Costello-esque vocal tones. The album was markedly different from previous band efforts in which the primary focus was the Hard Rock genre. Shipwrecked... featured more of a laid back vibe, treating audiences to his versatility and creative imagination.
Wiebe’s songwriting is eloquent, rich, and sometimes quirky. Many of his songs address the human condition of brokenness and spirituality. Relationships are at the heart of life, and it is a favorite subject of Wiebe’s, who has gone through his fair share of tragedy and hardship; surviving a major disaster, the death of his father and his cousin Mitch.
Wiebe is also fluent in Japanese, having spent 8 and a half of his formative years there. Audiences have been treated to songs in both English and Japanese, and while English-speaking audiences may not understand what is being sung, they still appreciate the art and craft of singing in a language other than their own.
Wiebe, having experienced what it means to “fall in love” in 2008, is currently working on a second solo album in which he laments the loss of his love but also expresses his hope for the future.

not a problem. I've never even heard of the kawa expresso bar, let alone playing shows there. but the again i guess its not really our scene ;) well i hope your doing awesome and maybe we will see you around.
You grew up in Japan? That's pretty cool man I've always wanted to learn another language. The first song on your myspace really sounds like that kinda japanese-pop hmmm? However the rest of em don't still kind find the wierd al influence but maybe in time.
Thx for your kind words, the support and the time taken to listen to our songs! Happy new year, wish you the best! Hope to see/read you soon Cheers from France *Arno_Bcs*
Hey David! Oh man, thanks for sending me that freebee. I couldn't really grab onto number 4 of his list, but the rest was amazingly insightful. How are things?
David: That really is the best attitude. I wish I could always keep myself in a place of trust. I totally agree that it just isn't something one can do alone. Even if that person is a "solo artist", help is still needed, and I find that working with other people is humbling, because it's always people that are so much more experienced and talented then me. It makes me wonder to myself, why is this person even helping me, I don't freaken deserve it! That's got to be God; he's all about giving you good things when it's obvious that no matter what you do, you still can't earn it. Anytime you want to come out and play in Winnipeg, let me know and I can be your promo guy, I have found quite a few places to play here; say the word and I'll work on getting you in. After all I'm already busting my ass to get myself in, what's one more singer to try to book!
Cool sites bro. It's cool to hear that you're doing another record. Right now I'm working on a new record -- or part one of three... I'm recording four tracks for a disc called "Red". Once that is done I'll fly to Holland and be back to do some touring with the printed and pressed discs. After that it's two more discs and then a final full length for Fall 2009. ;)
Thanks man, it's great to know that you want to support my career. When are you playing in town next? I haven't been doing any booking for a while, but I think February is when I'd like to get things underway again. ;)
Hey David! Thank so much for the kind words bro! I hope things have been going really good for you as well. I'm super busy with getting stuff tracked for the new disc and I must say I'm quite stoked. ;)
hey man its been a rough year for me ive been struggling with a wrist injury for 8 months now and Im just getting back to playing light... But we should get together and if your performing sometime Id love to come out, the new music you have sounds great I will listen to the rest and give you better feedback then... take care....
