David Booker plays rousing, listenable, and danceable jazz, blues, rock, swing, 50s rock n' roll, 60s R&B/Soul, and all other strains of Americana and roots music at venues in and around Denver and beyond.
He grew up on both sides of the Atlantic, first absorbing the skiffle sounds of Lonnie Donegan and Elvis Presley in his native Manchester as a young boy. He then spent more of his childhood in the USA, discovering Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, the Coasters, and the sounds of Rhythm & Blues, which continued after he moved back to the U.K. as a pre-teen.
His first gig was his school dance on a borrowed guitar, in 1962 aged 14, and after graduating to youth centers, pubs and clubs, he was off and running, gigging on the U.K scene with blues legend Champion Jack Dupree, and pop stars Del Shannon and Paul (Manfred Mann) Jones. In the 60s David played Portugal, Beirut, Lebanon, and the Bahamas and was a part of the famous 'Pub Rock' scene in London during the 70's .He managed to squeeze in two musical tours of the Seychelles Islands,in the early 70's , and had many uproarious adventures while in London.even recording an album for RCA records .in 1977...David moved to Denver, Colorado in 1981, and became a radio personality for two years, after which he fronted The Red Hot Blues Band formed from the success of his Radio show, "The Red Hot Blues Show." His nickname at this time was "The Captain'" as many fans still remember. David is also remembered for leading The Alleygators, a rockin' little blues act, with a strong Swamp Blues and New Orleans R&B repetoire from1990-97. David plays solo and is also known in the swing community with Mr DAVID BOOKER &The SWINGTET, a cookin small group-Jazz/Blues/Swing band available for Weddings and swing events such as the Mercury Cafe' in Denver .. Over the years (28 in Colorado), David has built a solid reputation for leading a real hip and fun variety band, tailored for Weddings and Corporate events .2009 sees David working solo , and with 3-5 piece line -ups focusing on playing live music all over Colorado .................

Typically an endorsement means building the guitar for a little less than 1/2 price. For example Steve Crenshaw's Stardust list price is $2,500.00; Sale price is $1,800.00 but he only paid $700.00 - which included the hard case and shipping. Of course I'd build one free for Jimmy Page. :) Wishing you and yours a fantastic fall and holiday season. Neil - Vegas Guitars Custom Shop.
Hey David Booker - Thank you for your friendship and the add! I'm working on a "Dunes" model - strat shaped, humbuckers, maple body, Wenge top, stop tail - but I could put a whammy in it. It would be fun to make you a custom "Stardust" with humbuckers. Can't wait to see you play again - you da man! Neil Smith - Vegas Guitars Custom Shop.
It's great to be friends with David Booker! Hey David, how about we build you a custom Vegas Guitars Stardust? It's kind of like a Strat only a lot better - we'll endorse you. The one pictured I just finished building for Steve Crenshaw - have a rocking fall - your friend Neil Smith - Vegas Guitars Custom Shop
