I play folk songs, mostly the American kind; this includes Appalachian, Blues, Country and Ragtime. I mostly play the guitar but sometimes the banjo, mandolin, harmonica and double bass. Playing solo I play the hits of and in the style of some of those guys mentioned on the left. I’m also in several bands as follows:
Broad and Rossiter’s Leeds City Waltzers (guitar, banjo, mandolin, vocals) - Playing authentic up-beat American folk, old-time and bluegrass style with my man Michael.
The Lovesick Cowboys (guitar & vocals) – a tribute to the late great Hank Williams (the 1st) but probably played a bit faster.
The Cash Machine (double bass) – a tribute to Johnny Cash. Possible the best Johnny Cash band in Leeds...
The Devil’s Jukebox (washtub bass) – 20s and 30s style jazz, blues and ragtime but a bit weirder.
