With his 14 piece band, David Cedeño and his Orchestra is nothing but ... HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
Not only is David Cedeño known in his hometown New Jersey, but he known all over the world, including a 6-month tour in Japan. He is currently also available for all occasions and activities such as weddings, parties, sweet sixteens, and many others such as clubs, parks, concerts, and any recreational events. His Latin orchestra plays a large variety of Latin music, but his specialty known world wide is songs from the fifty's (oldies but goodies), in a Latin salsa beat with English words. Thursday August 23, 2007 salsa music will be dressed up in grand ballroom style at the Manhattan Center Studios where they will be presenting “In the Spirit of Salsa.”
If you are a true lover of salsa, dancing and live music, you CANNOT miss this event. Because “In the Spirit of Salsa” promises to be a stylish, chic, and sophisticated event echoing the days of the 1950’s Palladium ballroom where Tito Puente, Rodriguez, and Machito were kings and where Pedro “Cuban Pete” Aguilar and Millie Donay ruled the dance floor.
The night will showcase a free dance lesson and dance performance by Piel Canela of the New York Latin Dance Company, with DJ Michael Saltiel, and live musical performance by Chino Nuñez and Friends Orchestra with special guest Ray Sepulveda. And at the end of the night Nuñez will have a special musical tribute to Hector Lavoe.
I’ve attended an event like this before and I have to say it was a great time and I highly recommend going. To hear live salsa music in the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center Studios surrounded by its elegant and beautiful décor, it is a dream come true, because salsa music and dancing is best experienced in grand ballroom style.
For you happy hour lovers Manhattan Center Studios will feature a 2 for 1 drinks until 9:30pm and $5 drink specials. As an added bounce with your purchase of your ticket you will receive one month free dance lessons from Pel Canela, so you are really getting more bang for your buck.
So instead of going to your local happy hour spot or hangout after work this Thursday night, checkout “In the Spirit of Salsa,” trust me you will not regret it.
“In the Spirit of Salsa” will be on Thursday August 23, 2007 at 6:30pm at the Manhattan Center Studios Grand Ballroom located 311 West 34th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenue. Tickets are $35 for tickets go to Ticketmaster.com or call 212-307-7171 and for more information go to www.mcstudios.com.
