David Chisum; born in Livonia, MI and rasied in Fullerton CA,speaks of his most humble beginnings. His parents met in the second grade and married at age 17.The chisum family eventually settled in Fullerton, where David attended Sunny Hills High School and flourished while getting involved in everything from surfing to football to drama club.
David worked odd jobs for years while acting on the West Coast. He literally uprooted his life and family in 2007 when he won the contract role of Miles Laurence. The actor had been working steadily on television and prime-time since 1995, but never seriously considered a role on daytime. He says he didn't know anything about the genre at that time but when called to audition for the part of Miles Laurence he made up his mind in that moment that he was going to get the part.
David says he couldn't be happier to be playing Miles. The only drawback at first was being without his family for months. In April of this year, he packed them all up and moved them across country. The Chisums are now settled and happily residing on Long Island, in NY, and the David is enjoying his foray into the soap opera world of community, fandom, and charity.
David Chisum is glad he made the change. He has enjoyed knowing he has such loyal fan support and an interesting character to play in Miles. He hopes to be able to reach out to his fans and also use his name support charitable works as becomes more entrenched in the Daytime community. David's charities of choice involve supporting reseach to fight blindness. He has two family members who are legally blind and this issue has directly affected his life.
Although somewhat new to daytime telelvision, David Chisum has appeared in a long list of other hit shows, such as 24, Las Vegas, The Practice, Cold Case, and Jag.
He has starred in films that include "Flight of the Living Dead" and critically acclaimed "Dark Mirror"
