DAVID C. HOPKINS: New Religion

American Guitarist David C. Hopkins released his debut album titled "New Religion" on 03 March 2009. "New Religion" contains 14 songs selected from over 30 that were written in consideration for the project. Hopkins has spent the majority of his time over the last two years fine-tuning his skills in recording, mixing, producing, sound-engineering, and mastering in his home studio Hopkins Abstract Audio Access, located in Terre Haute, IN. After working as a Lead Guitarist in many bands over the last 30 years. Hopkins decided to put his skills to the test and create his own project from the ground, up. Joining Hopkins in three of the tracks are life-long friends Edward Paauwe on Bass Guitar and James "Scott" Douglas on drums, who bring yet another dimension to the already heavy, melodic feel. Remembering as a young guitarist being told "Don't sing just, play guitar", Hopkins set a new challenge in his career by writing and singing all of the vocal tracks for "New Religion" as well. Already completing the writing for his second project. Hopkins is focusing currently on delivering "New Religion" to the public. The response to the music has been overwhelming and David would like to thank everyone for all of the kind words and their interest. Remember, there are no rules when creating music, just keep it "real". Best wishes. TRACKS FROM THE PROJECT WILL BE ROTATED IN AND OUT PERIODICALLY.

New religion is a Melodic Heavy Metal Journey with instant musical Hooks that get you singing the songs right away. The title track New Religion is sure to be an instant hit! Melodies that will almost bring tears to your eyes. Ripping melodic guitar solos that are right up there with the best guitarist out there. Honest deep emotional lyrics that have real soul in them. Has a feel like Alice in Chains meets Dokken meets Led Zeppelin. Very good music for good times jamming it loud for all your friends to enjoy and your neighbors too LOL! David Hopkins New Religion is one of the best new Artist to arrive to a flooded music scene of run of the mill bands. Five Star music forsure!!!!Thank you David and hope to see another release very soon!

"New Religion" features the best of both worlds David C. Hopkins' release of "New Religion" gives a boost and integrity to the hard rock music scene by finding a way to perfectly blend the drive and adrenaline of arena rock with the passion and heartfelt honesty of radio-friendly power ballads. Mixing a bit of European melodic flash with some good old fashioned American grit, Hopkins has composed a future masterpiece in his debut offering. Teamed with James Douglas who fiercely pounds on the skins and Edward Paauwe who lays down thick, heavy drive on the bass, Hopkins displays his prowess with blistering riffs, crunching blues and melodic leads as well as fresh, transparent lyrics to fill out the album. From the first claps of thunder on the bass drum in the lead-in "So High" through the ethereal harmonies of "Fallen," "New Religion" delivers a musical feast that will satisfy the ears of every listener throughout the entire project. In an age when so many are actively searching for answers in life, whether they be emotional, physical, spiritual, fiscal... Hopkins fuels his raw energy with thoughtful relativity seldom experienced in the music world. Now perhaps under the radar, Hopkins should quickly gain notice by many with one of the most complete musical projects that are available today. Unlike other albums from myriads of artist, "New Religion" easily keeps the listener intrigued and involved as each track grabs hold of your attention and doesn't let go! If this is not in your collection, you are missing a diamond in the rough. Place "New Religion" at the top of your want list and enjoy one of the best albums I've heard in easily a couple of years.

David has a style that will remind you of what you love best about rock and roll! Heart pounding, foot stompin' blazing guitar work that is so well crafted, with a touch of old school that will remind you of the guitar masters of yesteryear but at the same time bring a fresh approach that will make you glad you picked up this disc. Each dynamic guitar solo will keep you wanting more. Every terrific hard rock melody will make you start strumming that air guitar and wishing you were up on the stage belting out these rockers to the legions of fans. For all you old school rockers, this album is a must have. Hopkins is an amazing guitarist who has learned what it takes to make great rock and roll! Each song on here delivers a sonic blast to the ears as his fingers work their magic. Even when he quiets it down a bit as with the haunting "For More" Hopkins cannot resist giving you a flash of his guitar mastery to emphasize the point. While doing so the best part is how he captures the essence of the song with his instrument. The riveting work on this tune is so poignant to the overall song; it is as if the guitar he is playing is another voice to his lyrics. Sometimes you stumble upon a hidden gem in the strangest places. This gem is one that you can find very easily and I recommend that you seek it out as soon as you can!
