BIOGRAPHY
David Fang 房绍卿 is a music composer for film, TV, video game, and any other audio/visual related productions. He has also recently written and produced music for acrobatic/theater/dance programs.
He was born in Shanghai during August 14th, 1986 and was raised in New York City. Since early childhood, he was learning to play the violin through his father who was a professional musician in Shanghai. He has performed with Chamber Orchestras and Symphony Orchestras throughout his early educational career. David Fang attended and graduated from the City University of New York. While attending High School and College, David Fang studied both music and music technology.
During January 2008, David Fang have written his first Orchestral piece called "Shining Path to Truth and Knowledge Suite". He then written and produced music for the following video games such as Star Wars: The New Era created by Invision-Games. He then composed and produced music for Andromeda: The Darkest Night, which was his first big project consisting with over 75 tracks and cues which was released in two full length albums/music libraries called "Andromeda: The Coda" and "Andromeda: The Musical Journey". Cues and pieces from both "Andromeda" libraries were often featured in Intex Digital Sound's FedCon DVDs.
On September 2009, David Fang have completed additional scoring for the theater version of the Ancient Chinese Mythology Epic Called "The Investiture Of The Gods" at the Shanghai Theater Academy, which is one of China's top and most prestigious drama/theater/film school. The three hour program features traditional Chinese Theater, song, dance, and live action combat/stunts on stage.
During January-February 2010, David Fang has scored a full 90 minutes ballet "The Four Seasons" performed by the Shanghai Dance Academy. It was choreographed and directed by Chen Jia Nian in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Dance Academy.
