   About David Foret
Greetings, I am David Foret and here is my story. I grew up in the swamps of Louisiana, a stones throw from New Orleans. When I was nine I started to learn the guitar. My grandfather, who lived fifty miles away would visit once a week. When he would visit he would hand me some papers with a few guitar chords on them that my cousin Neil would send me. I would learn those chords and by the time my gramps would visit again I would be ready for the next set of chords. Soon I started to jam with friends. We played Rock & Roll, Country, Cajun and Zydeco. There were a ton of great players where I grew up. I started to feel lost in a sea of great players. Then one day at rehearsals, my piano player Gerard Barrios looked over at me and said "Hey Dave, You Suck on the Guitar". You should play bass and we should hire a killer guitar player." I was upset for a short period. Then I realized that there were no bass players around and that I could get a lot of work. I became a student of the instrument and it has put food on my table and a roof over my head. I now thank my friend for telling me that I sucked on the guitar. It changed my life. Since then it has taken me all over the world. Here are a few of the artists that I have had the honor of laying down some Fat Grooves for. Blues guitarist Tab Benoit- Sixties icon Mitch Ryder- Guitar legend James Burton- Zydeco practitioners The Zukes Of Zydeco- Vocalist Jen Price- Guitarist Sundance- Vocalist Erin Lee- Cajun Fiddler Doug Kershaw- Blues Vocalist Tad Robinson- Guitarist Andrew Freeman- Guitarist Michael Hornbuckle- I once got to play Bass with Asleep At The Wheel. WOW, Ray Benson is one very tall Guitar Picker!! I am the new Bass Player in the Blues Rock Band Mojambus with my friends Mike Ray, Jasco and AC. Check us out!!!!! I have also opened for many artist, Which include, BB King, KoKo Taylor, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, Lonnie Brooks, Dr. John, Tower of Power, Jr Wells, GateMouth Brown, Bugs Henderson, CoCo Montoya,Bill Kerchen,Leftover Salmon, Joe Bonnamassa, Vince Converse,The Fabulous Thunderbirds,Leon Russell,The Neville Brother's, Jo-El Sonnier,The Rev. I have played in Denmark, France, Switzerland, Austria,Germany, Sweden, South Korea, and all states except Alaska and Hawaii and all over Canada. I was a producer on two cd's for Doug Kershaw. Easy and Doug Kershaw and Friends which were released on Cooking Vinyl Records in London. I have just recently Produced the new cd for Tempa and the Tantrums along with my co producer Adam Shapiro. I Loved playing Bass for Tempa. When I heard Tempa sing I knew I wanted to make music with her! I also work with a Great Piano player and Vocalist, Jennifer Lane. We are Known as the Mountain Trio.Mike Ray on Drums, Jennifer on Piano and Vocals. We play every Sunday in Conifer Colorado at Ravens Resturant and Live music Club. The Bass I play is a Fodera Monarch 5 string. It is the finest piece of craftsmanship I have ever seen. I have owned it for 13 Years and do not plan on ever playing any other bass ever again!!!! Thanks....we are finally drying out. We got most of the bad weather Wednesday night. It got so bad that my dogs kennel collapsed on top of my dogs. It sucked! I rather have the rain than the snow I think lol.
