Music
Louis Prima, Louis Jordan, Sam Butera, Wynonie Harris, Bill Haley, Big Jay McNeely, and lots of other music from the swing era (including bachelor pad music!) I also love GOOD eighties music and recent musicians' and critics' favorites (e.g. King Crimson, Roxy Music, The Tubes); my general rule is to only listen to artists who were active from 1992 and back (eliminates a lot of junk)
Movies
Silent movies are my favorite, especially German and other European silents; I also like old movies (pre-1968) in general. I run "The Pola Negri Appreciation Site" (http://www.polanegri.com) about the early Polish/German actress Pola Negri who was Rudolph Valentino's fiancee at the time of his death. Also, I have developed "Olga Baclanova: The Ultimate Cinemantrap" (http://www.olgabaclanova.com), which is about the early Russian actress who is famous for her roles in the early horror movies "Freaks" (1932) and "The Man Who Laughs" (1928).
Television
I don't watch TV at all; if I did I'd be watching TCM, Fox Movie Channel, Arte, VH1 Classic, and De Pelicula Classico
Books
I actually wrote one of those: it's called "How to Make a Coopered Wooden Bucket" and is distributed by Fox Chapel Publications.
About me: I'm David Gasten, the founding member of David Gasten and the City Kids, who is the wildiest, rowdiest, most adolescent Swing/Jump Blues Band in Denver, CO. I also ran the Saturday Night Swing Dance, which was one of Denver's major swing dance events for two years.

I finally got the guitar in tune .. after everyone had left .. not a bad night .. the doorman needs to be on the ball if folks got in for free ..I had a great time except for my throat .. got some stuff for it to day .. still dry .. best for now David; keep me updated on the $$ DB .

I have been looking into schools to go to for nursing, and its a really hard process so if i could just be prayed for that i do find what i am looking for and that it be a good school. Also pray that my sons daycare assistance goes through so that he can be around others his age and so that his momma can find a sutable job!

miss you guys too! i want to be swing dancing but the nearest place to do it is like an hour away so i haven't gotten around to it! and london may be changed to boston...i don't know.....i change my mind a lot! haha
