Hard to say as I realise that even the most heroic people are flawed in the face of the God's standards of goodness and fame.
About me:
I'm pretty unimportant in the grand scale of things. Of far greater value, is a saving relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ, without whom we are lost and hell-bound.
If you'd like to know Jesus, answer the following.
Have you ever broken any of the ten commandments? (Exodus 20)
Have you ever lied, stolen anything, or used God's name as a curse word?
If you have, do you realise the penalty for this sin?
The Bible tells us that transgression of God's Law means that we shall face eternal torment.
If I'd done any of the above things, God views me as a lying, blaspheming thief. As much as we try to justify ourselves, we know that we can never match God's standard for being "good enough" to enter Heaven. Certainly, as a lying, blaspheming thief, I couldn't survive an encounter with a holy and righteous God.
That's why, because of His great love for us, He sent His only begotten Son to die in our place, to suffer the wrath that was rightfully directed at us. If we repent of our sins and trust in Him, the promise of eternal life is ours.
How great is that?
How ya been mate? I've got some good news bro, God has opened the door for me to come back to the UK in Dec - Feb. 7 weeks of evangelistic preaching! Looking forward to catching up.
