David H has been influencing the dance scene since the late 1980's, producing & releasing his first record in 1991. Subsequent releases include David-H : Passion remixed by the legendary Tony De Vit and more recently Subsola : So Pure remixed by trance guru Ferry Corsten.

As a DJ & Remixer David H is recognised for his Tech-Tribe, Drum-House sets that will rock any club & his Pure Seduction remixes that guarantee to fill any dance floor.

Over the last few years David H The Bongoman has performed over the world accompanying the very best DJ's and has held down key residencies at some of the biggest parties and club nights this planet.

In terms of Dance Percussion David-H is one of the biggest names in the business. David has become a multi talented ambassador for the dance music scene, excelling as an artist, producer, remixer, DJ and dance percussionist. He has his own underground dance label Planet 10 and promotional night Drum-House. He is certainly ranked above the rest with his natural improvisational skill, continuing to wow crowds across the globe with his phenomenal talent. Proven to be one of the worlds leading dance percussionists David possesses the ability to accompany all styles of House music, never competing, only complimenting, fusing the groove between the DJ and the dancefloor.

The Bongoman or as they say in Ibiza, ‘El Hombre timbale’ is the name given to David-H which describes his unique ability to rhythmically improvise over any record and DJ mix. His talent has won him the respect from some of the worlds greatest DJ’s, who love David to perform alongside them, adding a magical edge that lifts the crowd to another level...

David-H is the only ‘Dance Percussionist’ in the world who produces his own tracks and remixes other peoples records. He is the busiest percussionist on the circuit and has played in clubs that most Percussionists and DJ’s can only dream about...

2001 saw the birth of dance percussion and the beginning of The Bongoman. “Yeah, there were and have been other percussionists... but, no real ‘Dance percussionists’ who were any good!”, The Pussycat club , The Syndicate , The End, Cream & Fire have all been UK residencies, with David-H accompanying the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Judge Jules, Mr.C, Boy George, Tall Paul, Erick Morillo, Ferry Corsten, & Fat Boy Slim to name but a few!

“I play the festivals, all the big commercial clubs like The Syndicate, the cool underground clubs like The End and all the best gay clubs like Fire in London.”

Summer of 2002 saw David-H, The-Bongoman firmly announce his arrival on the world dance music stage as his ten weekily Ibiza residencies included Space, Manumission, DC10, Amnesia, El-divino, Eden & Underground... “Yeah, I'm really lucky! I’ve played in the worlds best clubs and for all the best club nights, I’ve done what most DJ’s would like to do and what some can only dream of.”

Traveling worldwide, guest performances have included Goa, Delhi, Mumbai , Miami, New York, Cape town, London & Belgium, David-H has accompanied virtually every big name DJ on the planet. “Some of my favourite performances have been alongside Mr.C, David Jimenez, Pete Tong, Erick Morillo & Fat Boy Slim”.

During summer 2005, David-H started his own club night Drum-House. The concept being simply ‘Drums & House music!’ - “From my experience a lot of people have forgotten how to have a good time. They are all wrapped up in who the DJ is and what choon is playing..”

Drum-House is literally me mixing on my Macbook Pro, playing live Drums, percussion, a variety of world-class DJs, my beats and a lot of very hedonistic clubbers having a brilliant time ..!”

David-H started learning the drums when he was just seven years old. David recalls, “I use to really annoy my parents bashing pots & pans and using mum’s knitting needles to play on Quality Street tin lids”. The knitting needles were soon replaced by drum sticks as David accompanied ‘The Show Stars’ marching band, with a snare drum that would reach down to his knee. The Show Stars would then go on to perform up & down the UK.

Music teacher David Cane-Hardy introduced Mr.H to percussion as they rehearsed for the Ratton School musical of ‘West Side Story’. “I loved all the school plays and Mr.David.Cane-Hardy was a real positive influence upon my musical ambition”. By the time David-H was sixteen years old he had accompanied the Ratton Players touring the North of France, the USA and recording the Ratton Players ‘Live’ in concert album.

Heavily influenced by the british rave scene David-H released his first white label in 1991. “I use to love going to all the big raves like Energy & Raindance. My best friend & I would go to London’s ‘The Crazy Club’ until 6am, then go onto Trade leaving around midday before heading down to DTPM Sunday afternoon, then finally ‘FF’ on a Monday morning”. It was within this hedonistic environment David-H was introduced and befriended DJ’s Tony De Vit, Tall Paul & Smokin Jo.

I was working as a studio engineer for Trouble on Vinyl & Renegade Recordings. During studio downtime, I would produce a new track, then get a dub plate cut and go straight into Trade where Tony or Paul would it thump through the ‘Turnmills’ system”. Releasing six tracks on his own independent underground dance label Planet 10, David-H - Passion was singed to EMI Records & MCA / Universal publishing. “This was a real break for me, legendary DJ Tony De Vit was remixing my record, I was writing and producing new material, plus I started remixing under my guise of Pure Seduction ”.

DJ-ing in and around London town gave David-H real inspiration, co-writing the club smash ‘Subsola’, So-Pure championed by BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong and remixed by trance guru Ferry Corsten... “Ferry’s ‘Outta the Blue’ had just been signed to Pete’s ‘London FFrr’ label and I was really taken aback when Ferry asked to remix my Subsola track”.
