David J. Gibbs is a solo musician from Coventry, England; born in 1990. He started playing the guitar at a very young age.
David wrote, recorded, mixed, mastered and produced his first demo The Beginning, in October 2007, featuring a guest solo by Pete Hawthorne from Warpath on the track "Pray". It was released in January 2008, and began to receive an overwhelming response from radio stations, magazines and even musicians within the music industry.
David has appeared in many different magazines and webzines, gaining high score reviews and various interviews. In 2009, he achieved his first full page feature interview with Mattey Magazine, which also featured the track "Pray" on their third World Metal Compilation CD. "Upon The Ice" was also featured on Alternative Magazine's Bleeding Edge 04 CD, alongside bands such as Arch Enemy and Children Of Bodom.
David's music has received air play from many radio stations worldwide. In 2008, he did a live interview with Rock 247 Online at their studio in Tamworth, UK, and even co-hosted the rest of the three hour show, drawing in over 19,000 listeners worldwide.
David's music is often compared to Moonsorrow, Satyricon and early Dimmu Borgir. Many say it resembles these band's prime days, yet bringing something completely new to the style of music.
In March 2009, David collaborated with Pete Hawthorne and James Davenport from Warpath to write and record an instrumental track for Metal Messiah Radio entitled, "The Messiah". David mixed, mastered and produced the track, along with playing lead, rhythm and bass guitars. Pete also played lead and rhythm guitars whilst James played the drums. "The Messiah" has now become Metal Messiah Radio's official theme song.
David is now in the process of writing his full length debut album. He will appear on the Onslaught tribute album, The Devil's Legion: A Tribute to Onslaught, which is yet to be released. The track, "The Beginning", will also appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming film, Legalize Murder 2. David has been asked to guest on various future CD releases, and will be working with many different bands and artists in the future.
David would like to thank everyone for their incredible support over the past year, and as the title of the demo says; this is just the beginning of things to come.
