david.kain is the alternate ego of Jeff Bradley, a mild-manored writer who lives in New Jersey.
Because it's more of a hobby than a job, Jeff invites his friends to contribute as often as they can, and so a number of his works are in actuality collaborations. All guitar parts are written and performed by Matt Bradley, Jeff's brother and arch-nemesis.
To date, david.kain has worked with several bands and DJs. Look out for new collaborations with Majai and Delancy in the near future. Most recently, he has a track featured on the bonus cd for Kurt Kurasaki's Power Tools for Reason 3.0. The track is called Smoke and Shadow, and was specially composed for the disc.
Conceived in 1999, david.kain has been producing electronica for the entirety of his existence. It began with an innovative program called ReBirth (a softsynth that emulated the classic tb-303, 909, and 808), and has grown from there.
These days, the david.kain studio involves a number of softsynths and bits of analog gear, as well as a handy portable mac-based DAW. Reason (the next generation of ReBirth) has become the focal point of the studio along with Ableton's Live and ProTools LE.
Stylistically, because david.kain isn't constricted by contracts or labels, he does whatever the hell he feels like. One day, it's floor bouncing trance, and the next it's trip-hop. It depends on state of mind and mood. No genre is off limits.
In the end, it's about having fun, and that's what david.kain does when he's composing, so sit back and have a listen.
