There are way too many to even begin to develop a comprehensive list, but here is my best effort...
Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Bruce Hornsby, Jamie Cullum, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, John Coltrane, John Mayer, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, Mozart, Beethoven, Jayson Madore, Joe Rayhbuck, Matthew Hall, Jason Mraz, Radiohead, The Fray, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Charlie Hall, Caedmons Call, Chris Rice, Leeland, Jars of Clay, David Crowder, DC Talk, and the list goes on and on...
David Alan Kurtz was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. From a very young age he exhibited signs of sensitivity to music. Even as an infant his body would physically respond to singing or any music heard. In preschool he would often hear his syblings practicing their songs and he would copy them by ear. At the age of seven, David started taking piano lessons of his own and quickly showed signs of excellent development.
Forced to quit lessons due to economic hardship after five years, David continued growing as a musician by listening to and copying other musicians...and by playing three to eight hours a day.
It was around this same time that David discovered his voice. At the age of thirteen David began writing and arranging his own songs. David often says it was this God-given ability that helped him make it through some of the hardest times in his life.
Through the years David has had many opportunities to continue honing his skills through education, church ministry, recordings, tours and other various means.
It is important to note that while David feels he has his own style, he is forever indebted to the many, many musicians who have influenced him over the years.
As David continues to worship his Creator with all that he is, it is his hope that you will enjoy and be blessed by his music.
HA HA! Maybe the fact that it is totally different and my brain can't handle it! The whole "home" and the "profile" pages bug me, but facebook does the same thing. Once it is set up, I'll be good. I need to put it together and make it neat and tidy and I'll be fine!
