“Looking for guitar playing good enough to stop traffic? Then meet guitarist David Landon, who proved his point by playing in the streets of Paris for a few years before returning stateside.” - Blues Access Magazine, June 2000.
Five years of living and playing in Paris, France at the end of the 80’s/early 90’s gave David the creative space to compose in the day and perform in the cafes and clubs at night. It was also a great time and place just to be living. A snapshot of those times can be heard on David’s first c.d. “Doin’ It On Your Own” (1995 Whip Records).
After returning to the U.S., David continued to perform in the blues clubs and festivals of the San Francisco Bay Area and in 1999 offered up a straight ahead (or as straight ahead as he could make it) blues c.d. “Chasin’ the Blues” (1999 Whip Records) met with critical acclaim and has sold well.
“Crackerjack blues-rock guitarist David Landon has put out his second recording, "Chasin' The Blues," (this one, all blues) and it's a good one. This Berkeley-based blues boy worships at the guitar-feet of the late Johnny "Guitar" Watson and keeps his flame alive with ripping lines of stringed fever throughout this 50-minute, self-produced, mixed and arranged fireball.” –Southland Blues Magazine, 1999.

Currently David is performing in Bay Area blues clubs and festivals with his band. In May of 2007 David released his new live CD showcasing this crack band in a raw and uncensored setting. You can go to this link to hear all the cuts on any of his c.d.s and to purchase copies: http://www.davidlandon.com/whiprecords/landon/index.html
Aside from performing and composing, David uses his skills to help produce emerging artists out of the bay area- working in all aspects of production from song writing, arranging and engineering primarily out of his own state of the art studio Whip Records (www.whiprecords.com).
