"Informative. Entertaining. Highlighting an area of the Marvel Universe that hasn’t been spotlighted in quite a while. Some of Marvel’s coolest and most underused magical characters are given their own entries in Tarot card form. The insight into the characters and foreboding snippets of possible future storylines had me interested in some of these characters for the first time in years."
DAVID SEXTON BIO
David Sexton has worked as an illustrator, writer, producer and lyricist for a wide variety of projects throughout the years. As the “magic” go-to-guy for Marvel Comics, Sexton has recently finished the “MYSTIC ARCANA” miniseries and the acclaimed guide to Marvel Magic,THE MARVEL TAROT.
Sexton began working in comics under remarkable circumstances. On his very first story he was fortunate enough to work with his idol, Comics Legend and all around nice guy, P. Craig Russell. Russell provided the inks, while Sexton wrote and penciled a controversial short story, “Satan & the Saviour” (SHOWN BELOW) for the remarkable comics anthology, TABOO. They collaborated again on “The Myth of Hycinthus.” He also worked with Craig as the model for "Moonglum" in Craig's adaptation of “Elric: Stormbringer” and the murderous Angel, Saraquel”.
In between his comics jobs, Sexton published two Tarot card decks: “The Winged Spirit Tarot”, (US Games Systems) and “The Tarot of Oz” (Llewellyn Worldwide, Inc.) and wrote several plays. “It’s a Fabulous Life!”, a gay musical take on the holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, has been produced all across the country and “The Nature of the Beach” has been optioned for a film.
Speaking of films... Sexton was chosen from thousands of contenders to guest star in a documentary called “Be Real”, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is now airing regularly on LOGO.
David Sexton currently resides in Miami, Florida where he continues to create concepts for Marvel while working on new television and film projects.
