David was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia and has lived on the same block for over 40 years.

KEY ISSUES: Stop the Violence
Philadelphia had the highest murder rate among the nation's 10 largest cities last year. As a former prosecutor, David understands the court system and the legislation behind it. He has a zero tolerance plan on illegal guns and would make it a priority to put people who commit crimes with guns in prison and make sure they get harsh penalties.
David's message is simple: No illegal guns in Philadelphia.
A Real Plan to Bring Jobs to Our City
David has a vision for Philadelphia as an international, world class city. He will lead Philadelphia into the global economy which will create new jobs and new revenues for the public good. He wants to develop our city's major economic engines which will put billions of new dollars into the pockets of our residents and workers. These economic engines include our ports and shipping industry, arts and culture, cutting edge sports, technology, science and research, tourism, small businesses, transit, and international trade.
Fixing Philadelphia Public Schools Every child should be able to attend a public school and receive a meaningful education. A meaningful education impacts a child's life in a real way. That means early intervention programs which include art, music, sports and other curriculum which build good character. It means learning skills that will meet the demands of today's regional employers. It means quality academics in a safe, clean setting with up-to-date technology. It means well-paid teachers who are compensated for extra effort and supported by the administration.
24 Hour Innovation & Conversation Area in Philadelphia
Zoning a particular area with a 24 hour designation would invite cultural renaissances like those of New York and San Francisco and provide a place where artists, musicians, inventors and people from all walks of life can go to exchange ideas at all hours with the backdrop of live entertainment. Discounted public housing would also be offered for artists in residence, filmmakers, musicians, etc., so that artists can create art without having to spend all their money on rent.
Reinvent Film in Philadelphia
David supports the creation of a soundstage, that would make Philadelphia one of the premiere filmmaking locations on the east coast and no longer a cottage industry. Thousands of jobs would be generated for everyone from the recent film school grad, to the union worker, to the actors and actresses in our city.
David believes that by supporting and nurturing the arts, music and film, economic progress can be made and Philadelphia can become a more attractive place to live, work and raise a family.
