"New York native David Ralston shows a keen ear for a hook from the start of I've Been Waiting (DRI Records). The title track, a roots-pop confection, marries indelible slide lines to a catchy vocal melody. The formula continues in "Red Wine and Moonshine" before the sound tilts to a snappy, gospel-fueled romp in "Don't Cry" and a raunchy, slide-driven take on Tom Waits' "Big in Japan." Duke Robillard, an early influence of Ralston's, produced the record, but except for the swing of "Jump Tonight," the crafty combination of genres into a new, soulful rock style points more to the guitarist's previous work with Delaney Bramlett."
Blues Review Magazine
"David Ralston is a triple threat musician. He's an emotionally charged vocalist, a mean as hell slide guitarist and a excellent songwriter. His blues tinged tunes cross the border between blues/roots rock and straight ahead contemporary alternative pop". Duke Robillard
David Ralston has the unique talent of bringing musical icons from different cultures together. He's been living in Okinawa Japan for the past 17 years playing and recording with Japan's biggest artists as well as helping United States Marines with substance abuse issues.
Delaney Bramlett came out of retirement to produce David Ralston. Bramlett passed on his wisdom of vocal passion, songwriting, and production skills. Ralston has taken the advice to heart and created a style of music that is all his own.
