As a writer for Warner/Chappell Music over 15 of those years, David has had many of his songs recorded by such artists as Diana Ross, Starship, Bad English, Jimmy Barnes, John Waite, House of Lords, Ramsey Lewis and Nancy Wilson to name a few, and collaborated with many great writers, such as Dianne Warren, Jonathan Cain, Gerry Goffin, Albert Hammond, John Waite, Jimmy Barnes, Greg Giuffria, Mark Spiro, Alanis Morrisette, etc. His first record, "All Dressed Up," was recorded back in the 80's and released on Elektra Records. In 2006 it was licensed and re-released on the Vivid Music label for Japan. "All Dressed Up," featured the hits "Boys of Autumm," Anywhere You Run To," Midnight Rendezvous," and "All In The Name Of Love." David recorded this record at LA's historic Sunset Sound. It featured well known musicians Jeff Pocaro, Steve Lukather, Mike Pocaro, David Foster, Jay Graydon, Michael Boddicker, Paulinho Da Costa, and Bill Champlin. **UPDATE**
David Roberts is pleased to announce the release of his second CD this year, entiltled "THE MISSING YEARS." It features a collection of songs written and recorded over the last 20 years. Some of the recordings are demos while other's are songs that were taken to the next level. As a staff writer for Warner/Chappell Music for over 15 years, David has been constantly creating new songs for other artists to record, and while some made it onto projects, up until now, many songs never quite found their way into the right hands. The first song on this CD entitled "Run Back," was co-written by writing legend Randy Goodrum, and was previously recorded by the Japanese band "SPLASH." It was also featured on the Japanese television series "Bullet Train," as the theme song. Currently this CD is only available as an import in Japan on the Vivid Music label, but look for it digitally online, and on CD in the rest of the world over the coming months.
Hey,David--Your album "All Dressed Up" is almost a diseased obsession with me--it is THE quintessential pop album of all time(with the possible exception of Airplay).I think it'd be a great idea for you to try to return in some way to that sound--there are thousands of fans who'd just eat it up.Yours sincerely, Tony Onstad(close neighbour of Robbie Buchanan's,who'd be an ideal candidate to produce this album!lol
Hi David, and welcome to Musicians Featured. Olivia mentioned you and your music, and people you knew or have known in common. She told me it was great to come across someone there was music and musicians in common with. And she said you have great vocals. She's taking a few days off because of MJ's death she doesn't want to be around her music page. She met him back at a Roast for Quincy Jones many years ago, etc. Please, stop by and say hello. When she comes back the comments will lift her spirits.
