Traveling, hiking, biking, reading and writing, red wine, micro breweries and food, sharing the same passions as Earl V. Shaffer by day and Jim Morrison at night.
Music
All kinds. Music is the language of the soul. U2 - all eras - Peter Gabriel and Pink Floyd are some standard favs. Blues "live" is simply amazing, too, on so many levels - and I'll go all the time - but sadly doesn't translate well when recorded.
Movies
Gladiator, Pulp Fiction, American Gangster, Batman: The Dark Knight, No Country For Old Men, American Beauty, The Sixth Sense, Big Fish, Vanilla Sky, The Professional, Jacob's Ladder, True Romance.
Television
NGEO, DiscoveryHD, The History Channel, Movies On Demand (I spend a lot of time in hotels), The Weather Channel (yes, I'm a weather junkie!!)
Books
The Alchemist (actually all of Paulo Coehlo's works)
Illusions (again, all of Richard Bach's works)
The Prophet (Kahlil Gibran is my favorite writer)
Breakfast With Buddha
Last Call of The Gods (hey, gotta plug my own book! Buy it NOW at davidsahadi.com)
Heroes
People who lead, people who give, people who make great sacrifices. And people who stay happy even in the worst of times.
About me: TV director, writer and filmmaker. But what I really am is a community organizer and an ambassador of good will…mainly in coffee shops and bars across the country! I love traveling and finding cool local bars and meeting new and different people. And I ALWAYS feed my bartenders! Life fills me with great enthusiasm. How could it not? I truly enjoy getting people together and sharing good times and good laughs. Connecting with people is the ultimate high, and you truly connect when you accept one another for who they are – differences and all – and also recognize in them some of the same facets in you. Connections are bridges that transcend age, cultures, race and religion. Everyone has something to teach you, and you them. To some I may appear aloof, whacky, reckless, a rebel, a "playa" at first. But those who truly know me know that I am a warm, generous, giving and compassionate soul who treats everyone with kindness and respect. I believe we are all eternal beings. Nourishing the playful, innocent child inside you is what keeps you young! And we all fuck up from time to time. That’s part of the process. What truly matters is how we deal with the aftermath and recognize the lessons learned. The whole purpose of this beautiful thing called Life is to love, laugh and learn. And LOVE again. And it is only when we are on the path of our own individual happiness, whatever that may be, that we truly find the learning we have chosen for this lifetime…
Peace, love and blessings.
