Here's the speech I gave at the 2005 EMMY's. It was a
bit controversial because people thought I was being a
bitter jerk for not thanking anyone but anyone who
knows me, from the show or not, knows that I am and
can be quite a few things but a bitter jerk, I am
not. I was doing a Christopher Walken impersonation
from "Catch Me If You Can." Just having fun, guys, relax. Entertainment business, remember?

This is one of the "Y & R" scenes I submitted for the EMMYS the year I won. I apologize for the audio being a bit off on a few of these. I'll try and fix it soon.

"Obsidere" premiered at The Miami Short Film Festival on Dec. 1. Thanks to all of you who came out to show their support!!
Obsidere is a short film that was written by my friend Eric Clark. It was also his directorial debut. He did a freakin'fantasticly great job. Except for when he sucked. But really, he was good. At which one I won't say. But he was. Anyhow, I'm proud to say that "Lago Films" was a part of this. It was my debut as a producer.
..
Here is the teaser trailer for the film. It is NOT the actual trailer, just something Eric threw together for your amusement. Enjoy---dave.
"The Wind and the Long Black Scarf" The story of Clara, a woman torn apart by her undying love for two very different men whose love for her is rivaled only by their hatred of each other. Her solution is simple: to love them both. But when tragedy strikes and one of the men ends up dead, her fear of choosing overwhelms her and she shuts herself off from knowing his identity. When the loneliness becomes too much she sets out to find the man who's left alive and love him forever, if only she knew which man she was searching for...

LOGLINE: A shallow teen investigates her deadbeat father's involvement in a bohemian cult. When she discovers a frightening world of rituals, sex, and murder, even sexy new boyfriend Puck may not be able to save her. Stunningly gorgeous footage featuring an exotic wildlife preserve/ kitschy Egyptian theme park never seen on film, THE COMMUNE is Greek tragedy retold as classic 1970s-style psychological thriller.
Opening Scene: SHORT SYNOPSIS: Jenny (Chauntal Lewis), a high-maintenance teen, is forced to spend the summer with her estranged father (Stuart G. Bennett) on his commune. With her every move monitored by security cameras and creepy residents, Jenny escapes to town and meets the dangerously sexy Puck (Emmy winner David Lago), who gives her a reason to stay. Jenny searches the commune for financial records on her father that could force him to drop his custody suit. What Jenny finds instead is a disturbing decades-old conspiracy that will endanger her, and the lives of those who try to help her. The kind of dark legacy that could make a girl blind herself to the truth forever.
Here's anothere scene!!

The Official Trailer:
Here are some production stills.
..
Written and directed by Elisabeth Fies (associate producer of the Independent Spirit Award winner CONVENTIONEERS), produced by Heidi Hornbacher (screenwriting finalist CREATIVE SCREENWRITING MAGAZINE 2007).
THE COMMUNE fuses psychological thriller elements of Polanski and Lynch, with the creeping oddness and gallows humor of CHINATOWN, BLUE VELVET, and Robin Hardy's THE WICKER MAN.
The incredible chemistry and realism of the two teen leads brings a poignancy to their doomed romance not felt since Roeg's DON'T LOOK NOW

Here's something that I'm posting just to trip my old school friends out.
About me: I may not always make what you may believe to be the right choices and I may not always act the way you’d like but know this; Whichever direction I chose and the manner in which I arrived, it was awareness and passion and trust that got me there. I have big dreams for many different aspects of my life of which I leave in God’s hands. I pray everyday and dream every night. I listen to my inner voice as much as I can. I should listen to my heart more often but my inner voice and my heart are in a bit of a lover's quarrel at the moment. Damn humans! I’m addicted to acting, writing and playing music in my band “panacea.” I’ve recently begun my addiction to producing when I started my production company “Lago Films” and produced my first short film in which I also starred in “Obsidere.” I am presently working on my directing addiction. Stay tuned----dave
“Do not make money your goal. Simply pursue the things you love, and do them so well that they can’t keep their eyes off of you.”
Every so often we (the world) are lucky enough to be given a gift directly from God. Someone who will stand and pursue their passion with a fierce drive that most of us are afraid of committing to. Open to judgement and ridicule. One single grain of sand in a sandbox of influence. In this case the very first strategically placed grain. Refusing to be another meat-sack walking around in a robotic-way, he broke away, thus changing the history of the world forever.
In his last hours he did what he loved. That was a gift not many can say.
The way to live on is to inspire. The same must be done to transcend. To pass beyond the limits of emotion. To be greater than.
Happy 75th Birthday Elvis Aron Presley and brother Jesse Garon Presley.
Who I'd like to meet: Elvis Presley, Robin Williams, Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Duvall, James Dean, Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, Frank Sinatra, Oscar Wilde, Shakespeare, that cute little robot broad from "Small Wonder," Jim Carrey, Jack Black, Menudo, Avril Lavigne, Will Ferrell, Angelina Jolie, Meg Ryan, Jodie Foster, Julia Roberts, George Clooney and last but definately not first...........Atticus Finch. I'll add more later I'm sure.
