I am interested in anything that can blow my mind....
Psychedelic experiences; mystical states; a cloudless day on the mountains; rowing so far out to sea that you can't see land anymore; aurora borealis; children; laughing so hard I can't breathe; making music; making love; learning; solving challenges; miracles; synchronicities; Salvadore Dali; Pre-Raphaelite art; making people laugh; the feeling of being inspired; singing; the feel of warm rain; the scent of a woman, "teacher plants" (Om entheogens!), chocolate-covered espresso beans; doing things I've never done before; being (in) love.
Music
I love any music that expresses truth, beauty, or passion. In other words, I listen to everything from Tori and Sarah to The Doors to Mozart to Metallica to Black-Eyed Peas to Enya to David Maracle to Aphex Twin. You get the idea.
I'm currently involved in a minor musical projects called Fearless - A Chakra Journey... check it out and let me know what you think!
Movies
I love anything that opens people up to something new. My current faves though are What the Bleep Do We Know, an independent film about quantum physics and neural chemistry and how our thoughts create our reality. Also, The Secret, which has opened up a lot of minds to the concept that your mind creates your reality, so keep an eye on what's going on in there!
Other good ones include:
Peaceful Warrior, Conversations with God, the Celestine Prophesy (three good books made into movies!), The Matrix and Lord of the Rings trilogies, Baraka (an amazing visual journey through the planet and the human condition), Farenheit 9/11, Bowling for Columbine, Stigmata, Waking Life, Run Lola Run, Star Wars and Star Trek (yep, I'm a geek and proud of it), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Legends of the Fall, Troy, Robin Hood, Kaena, Princess Mononoke, Pi, X-Men, Hackers, Johnny Mnemonic, Minority Report, Butterfly Effect, Requiem for a Dream, Edward Scissorhands, Willow, the Princess Bride, Contact, Phenomenon, Powder, 2001 & 2010, Vanilla Sky (ok, it could have been better, but hey, points for effort), The Crow, Secretary, Cellular, The Passion of Christ, The 5th Element, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Hero, Amelie, pretty much any vampire movie (even the crappy ones)...
...and way too many others to mention. I'll add more as I can remember them. Oh yeah, I really want to see "Indigo". Anyone seen it or know if it's good?
Television
I recently got cable after over a year and a half without it, and man, it's scary how in-your-face the NLP and subliminal marketing techniques are getting. Yikes. Anyways, I've found a few shows worth watching:
Delta State, Ghost Hunters and Mystery Hunters - I love watching these with our 7-yr old. He gets so excited when they comes on, it's great.
Unexplained Mysteries - fun to watch the 'normals' try to piece it all together
The L Word - Yum. Did I mention I am a lesbian trapped in a straight man's body?
CSI - sure beats the Hardy Boys books I used to read when I was a kid! I even own the CSI board game. I am equally proud and ashamed to admit that.
Chris Angel and David Blaine. 'Nuff said.
Books
I could write a book just listing all the great books out there. I can't remember who wrote some of them, but here's just a few to kick your brain into gear:
The Dancing Wu Li Masters - Gary Zukav
Miracles & Other Realities - Lee Pulos, Gary Richman
the Tao of Pooh, the Te of Piglet
The Celestine Prophesies, the Tenth Insight, the Secret of Shambalah
The Children of the Law of One and the Lost Teachings of Atlantis - Jon Peniel
Return of the Children of Light
Indigo Children
Earth Angels
anything by Baba Ram Dass, particularly Be Here Now
anything by Anne Rice
anything by Marion Zimmer Bradley, but particularly Avalon
anything by Isaac Asimov
Neal Donald Walsh - Conversations with God (1,2,3), Friendship with God, Communion with God, Tomorrow's God, the New Revelations, etc
Animal Speak
Dreaming With The Wheel
Anything by Carlos Castaneda or Don Miguel Ruiz
Sun Tzu - The Art of War
Chariots of the Gods, Gold of the Gods, and any other books by that author
Orson Scott Card - Ender's Game (haven't read any of the rest of the trilogy), and some of his short stories were great
Pierce Anthony - I've read like 12 or 13 of his books, they're great if you like corny puns and great humor
Anne McAffrey's books
Anything by Robertson Davies (a somewhat obscure Welsh-Canadian author)
the New Testament, the Upanishads, the I Ching, the Adi Granth, the Mahabharata, the Yoga Sutras, the Mathnawai, the Kojiki, the Vedas, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Lun-yu, the Pali Canon, the Book of the Dead (Egyptian and Tibetan versions), the Tao-te Ching, the Talmud, the Torah, the Hadith, the Books of the Apocrypha, the Necronomicon (both the fake one and the real one), etc.
I'll add more as I remember them or read new ones. Better yet, one of these days I'll remember my Amazon password and link to my wishlist.
Heroes
Anyone who's got the guts to step outside the box, even just for a while. Anyone who has the courage to follow their dreams. Anyone who has touched the One and come back to share their experience. Me. You.
My name is David, and I'm a Catalyst, a Lightworker. I'm basically on the planet to create change and make things better, in whatever way I can. Right now I work as a Claivoyant, and practice Ain Sophic Healing on clients in my home on top of holding a "regular" full-time job.
For those of you who don't speak 'New Age', that means I'm kind of a hippie type who does spiritual counselling and healing, meditates and burns incense all the time, and can often be found staring into space while mumbling incoherently. Oh yes, and apparently I speak Sanskrit in my sleep, or so I've been told.
Basically I set this space up as a place to defrag... I write articles sometimes, so I'll probably post some stuff here in case anyone might find it useful. The rest of the time it'll probably just be me going on about whatever random thing has caught my attention on the days I remember to update.
In Lakesh - Namaste.
~David
PS - Thanks for all the friend requests, guys! not sure how you all found me, but drop a line and say hello. I may not write back right away, but I always get back to you eventually!
Our Greatest Fear
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light , not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
"Actually, who are you not to be?
"You are a child of god. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
"We were born to make and manifest the glory of god that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Author - Marianne Williamson
Who I'd like to meet: I would like to meet real live in-the-flesh extra-terrestrials. Preferably friendly ones. Also, I would like to meet a real Telekinetic. Oh yeah, and I'd like to meet the Illuminati. I think they'd be a lot of fun to hang out with. Other than that, I'm into meeting anyone who doesn't just think outside the box; they know there IS no box.
...oh yeah, and possibly the guy who made these video clips, cause some of them are amazing.
