Jim Santella - ALL ABOUT JAZZ
"Builder's Brew", David's second album on OT Records features David with The Organ Trio; Jim Mullen (guitar) Mike Gorman, (Hammond organ), Matt Skelton (drums) plus Steve Kaldestad on tenor sax. The album is a swinging synergy of voice and instruments; innovative, incredibly stylish, yet as the title suggests Builder's Brew (aka: cup of tea) radiates a strong feel-good factor, it's as welcoming and heart-warming as it is accessible to all.
Described as "the epitome of cool" David's light vocal touches, crisp diction and witty interpretations demonstrated on his critically acclaimed debut album, 'Just In Time' (released on OT Records in 2003) won a legion of fans and admirers including top UK jazz journalists and broadcasters.
Born and raised in Ireland, David (33) moved to London in 1993 to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he graduated with BA (Hons). After recording "Just In Time" with fellow Guildhall graduates (Simon Colam, Tom Herbert, and Academy graduate, Chris Higginbottom) David went on to perform with The John Wilson Orchestra (the 16-piece big band, renowned for their musical contribution to actor Kevin Spacey's film, 'Beyond the Sea') In addition to his musical career David continues to combine his acting and musical versatility in theatre, radio and television throughout the UK and Europe. Currently David works with his own quintet in clubs and festivals in the UK and Ireland.

We're starting a new night for great live music tomorrow (Wed) night, at The Macbeth, 70 Hoxton St, N1 6LP, just off Old St.
We'll be playing, along with our good friends The Invisible (Dave Ukumu, Tom Herbert & Leo Taylor), and the fantastic Laurel Collective. It kicks off at 8pmish and entry is a paltry £3 - music and details are on our page.
Yep Dave.. still playing like a Demon... A Demon playing "I Got Rid o' Them". And I certainly do.. women, audiences but unfortunately not people who ask for "Baker Street" or rebel songs at a free-improv gig.
Yo mutha......Hello Dave...(in a fine accent from League of Gentlemen) I do indeed love small portable steps on the backs of the little bovine creatures it has become a new passion of mine. I was meaning the back of a ladies calf that has a rip in her tights however this has got me into much trouble oh trouble trouble trouble good old Ray. I am dandy ish still singing and making new work with my block board and some tibetan bells also learning the piccolo drum. I start re-rehearsals for Fiddler on Monday so i'll be treading the boards at the Savoy for the next wee whiley. Miss your banter and your smart shoes. Love to Shiri and whatever part of the world you are in the now. Frankie.
