About me:
Press Release:
David Wernham, (Wildlife Management), one of the music industries great
unsung heroes sadly passed away suddenly on 29th May 2007, shortly after
celebrating his 59th birthday.
David will be fondly remembered by the many and diverse artists upon whom
his guidance had a huge impact.
Over the past three decades he managed the punk group "The Vibrators", Dave
Stewarts first band "The Tourists" and discovered a young Annie Lennox
whilst she worked as a waitress in Scotland . He then tour managed, "Big
Country", Billy Idol, Alison Moyet, Peter Gabriel and "Tears for Fears" and
many more.
His formidable yet amiable management style enjoyed multi-platinum status
with pianist and vocalist Oleta Adams and singer songwriter Des'ree. David
also assisted many other eclectic, eccentric, lesser known artists,
musicians and composers whose talent he admired.
David Wernham left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with,
particularly in the area of live music, where he made many long standing
friends. There aren't many venue proprietors, promoters and agents worldwide
that did not know and love this generous and self-effacing man.
In his spare time he was a philanthropist, supporting many charities and
charitable organizations. Beyond the industry he is especially mourned by
his mother Mary, his sister Jean and brother Richard, and his partner
Ramona.
He will be sorely missed.
