Music (especially live music - my friends tell me I am a gig-aholic!), movies, comedy (again, especially live) computers, gaming (X-box was the best wedding present we got!), wrasslin', science. Having a good time, all of the time. :-)
Music
Mostly Autumn, Odin Dragonfly, Fish, Marillion, John Wesley, Danger Danger, Warrant, Firehouse, Motley Crue, Tyketto/Danny Vaughn, Survivor, Journey, The Storm, Styx, Gowan, Kiss, Judas Priest, Manowar, Fozzy, Van Halen, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Jeff Scott Soto, TNT, Y&T, Mr Big, Poison, Magnum/Bob Catley/Hard Rain, UFO, Waysted, MSG, Francis Dunnery, Butch Walker, Dokken, Black 'n' Blue, Autograph, Most AOR and 80s-early 90s hard rock and metal and pretty much anything else with rock and melody!
Movies
Huge movie fan, love and can pretty much watch most genres, most eras and most actors. Especially like Burt Reynolds car chase movies, a good horror/thriller or a cheesy 50s Science Fiction classic. Two types of movies I love are 1. Really good ones and 2. Really bad ones!
Television
Knight Rider, Miami Vice, The Professionals, T.J. Hooker, The A Team, MacGyver, ALF and a whole range of other cheesy series..........also watch way too many 70s sitcoms and dated sci-fi to be healthy.
More recent stuff.........C.S.I. (but not Miami), Lost, Two and a Half Men, Tru Calling etc.
Books
Love factual/history books, reference books and autobiographies. Best reading of recent months - "Motley Crue - The Dirt", "Errol Flynn - My Wicked, Wicked Ways". The Hoff "Making Waves".
Heroes
Way too many heroes............actors - but how about Burt Reynolds, Errol Flynn, Burt Lancaster and David Hasselhoff for starters. Musical heroes - Fish, Ritchie Blackmore, Ted Poley, Bruno Ravel, Steve West, Andy Timmons, Don Dokken, Danny Vaughn, David Hasselhoff, Dean Martin..........and many many more. Other heroes - Bret Hart, Ric Flair, John Ford, Ron Saunders, Hugh Heffner............
Time for some videos from my heroes list - check them out:
If you want to know why the Hoff is such a hero:
And heres the mighty Danger Danger:
Warrant......Jani Lane is the most underated songwriter of my generation.
And finally heres some ancient history from Derek Dick and the boys:
About me: "One life and I'm going to live it up" - well Judas Priest wrote that and its seems a way more sensible philosophy on life than most others I've heard. Generally intent to keep enjoying life and steadfastly refusing to grow old gracefully. I love music, books, movies and people that can either make me smile or make me think..............
DT pocket philosophy 1.01 : most day to day worries, problems and obstacles can be beaten with a positive outlook and sense of humour. Keep smiling, keep laughing and keep enjoying life - it confuses the hell out of people lol
Who I'd like to meet: I've met just about everyone I've ever wanted to meet.........except for the legend that is David Hasselhoff (UPDATED 17/9/06 - correction, I have now met everyone I've ever wanted to meet!!). If I had a time machine that could take me anywhere, I'd be off for a night out with the Rat Pack in Vegas...........
“We, long time fans of Uriah Heep from all over the world, are very disappointed and disgusted at the treatment that the band are getting from Universal Music and the seemingly lack of support from their management company Duroc Media.”
This is the first paragraph of a petition that is now online at www.petitiononline.com/uhwts/petition.html
If you agree with this and want to try and do something about it, here is what you can do:
First of all go to www.petitiononline.com/uhwts/petition.html and read the full petition text. If you still agree (and I think you will!), then please sign the petition with your name or nickname and the country where you live. You have to provide your email address too, but you do have the option to keep it private. If you want you can also leave a comment.
Then spread the word about the petition in any way and to as many people as you can! Start by sending this message to all Uriah Heep fans and other lovers of good rock music that you know. Webmasters of Uriah Heep websites can post a message about the petition and petition link on their websites and tell about it in their newsletters. Also we can leave messages on forums and on networking sites such as MySpace. Last but not least, you can copy the full petition text into an email message, change the “We, long time fans (……..), are” into “I, long time fan (………), am”, sign your name and send it to
info@durocmedia.com info@umusic.com
Maybe all of this will not help Uriah Heep get their new album in the stores, but I think it’s better than doing nothing, a united effort to give off a sign to Duroc and Universal is at least worth a try!!! So hopefully as many Heep fans as possible will try to help by signing the petition and spreading the word!!!
Hi DT! Just thought I'd drop by and say hi, how are you? Hope 2008 is going well for you so far, I have only been to one local gig so far, shameful eh? I bet you've already been to about 50 being the gigoholic that you are!! :) lol
how are you? I went to three Uriah Heep gigs in a row a few weeks ago, that was really great again, they totally rocked, especially with the three new songs they are playing now! Check out videos of these songs at www.uriah-heep.com or at my profile.
How are you? In few months it will be Uriah Heep time for me again, they will be doing three shows in Holland in January (yes, I'm planning on going to all three LOL), and also I will probably be going to a show in Germany in December. Hope all is well with you.
Hello DT! Just back from sunny Cornwall, weather has been superb and had the best time. Hope you are well. It's back to the grindstone for me now but feel fully recharged! Orkut Comments & Glitters , Myspace Comments
