Hakkımda: The Davies School of Dance has been running for 15 years. Founded by Principal Lisa-Jane Lovett, the school incorporates the Weston Youth Dance Company, Clevedon Cougars Cheerleaders and Weston Rebels Cheerleaders. Based in Worle (North Somerset) the school also has branches in Clevedon, Portishead, Burnham on Sea and in Nailsea.
The school offers lessons in Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin American, Rock 'n' Roll, Ballet, Tap and Cheerleading.
All ages and abilities are catered for, including adults and toddlers.
The school holds regular exam sessions with a 100% pass rate and Lisa-Jane also trains professionals to a very high standard. Past students have gone on to set up their own schools, pursue a career in dance or to study dance at a higher level.
Lisa-Jane herself is one of the top qualified teachers in the area, being a Fellow and Examiner of the IDTA. She has been dancing since she was 2 and a half years old, with her Father also being a qualified dance teacher. Her Mother also has a keen interest in dance. Lisa Jane is also a fully qualified aerobic instructor.
The other teachers in the school are Natasha Evans and Sophie Lovett.
Natasha studied dance at SLP College in Leeds before moving back home to study for a degree in teaching.
Sophie is one of the school's senior pupils aswell as a teacher, and is currently studying for her A levels at college. Sophie would like to pursue a career in both dance and drama teaching.
Aswell as exams, the school holds regular charity shows for all pupils to take part in. The Cheerleading Squads often participate in local events and festivals. The Weston Youth Dance Company also take part in local events, has won many categories in the Weston-Super-Mare Carnival, and has also performed in prestigious London Theatres, on several occasions.
The Davies School Of Dance provides a safe environment to have fun and to learn a fantastic skill.
