    Bob's Interests
General February 24, 2008 Reviews Coming By Local Music Critic Bob Payne posted February 22, 2008 Bob Payne A new column featuring news and information about the area music scene will appear on our Happenings section weekly on Thursdays. We hope that readers will make Chattanoogan.com their go-to source for local music happenings. Music is a big part of the Chattanooga experience for residents and visitors alike. Riverbend is one of the top 10 festivals in the entire country. Nightfall brings thousands out each year. Every weekend, live bands perform at venues throughout the city. Local venues that provide us information about live music act performances will be listed each week in the column. In addition, local music critic Bob Payne will review a local band each week in Chattanoogan.com. Bob attends hundreds of live performances in the Chattanooga area each year and will give a detailed review of a different band each week. Area residents and visitors will have a single source to find out about what’s happening in Chattanooga’s bustling music scene. From the days of watching Overland Express play at Yesterdays, to watching the latest local rockers hit the stage at Riverbend, Nightfall, and music clubs all around town, Bob has been a music fanatic his entire life. Local bands have had a few nice things to say about him, as well. “Bob’s review of our band was invaluable feedback for us.” “Thanks for the fantastic review. It’s obvious you really listened to our music. We discussed your suggestions and have decided to implement them in future performances.” “Bob attended one of our live performances and noticed right off that we were unbalanced on our Bass inputs. He casually mentioned in a nice way that the bass seemed off. On the first break, we checked our inputs and he was right. The rest of the night we rocked, thanks to him!” Look for his band reviews each week, and remember to support Chattanooga’s local music scene. You never know — the band you hear tonight in a small club could be the band that is on stage receiving a Grammy award next year. Bob Payne can be reached at Davrik@aol.com
