"THE HEAVIEST THING TO COME OUT THE NORTH EAST SINCE VENOM"
Spewing Forth from the guttural waste lands of Hartlepool in the north east of England, dawn of chaos offer old school death metal with their own modern groove drenched technicality. Formed in June 2004 based up on earlier foundation of an earlier version of guitarist ken turners previous band. Ken Turner recruited some of Hartlepool’s most talented redneck drunken bastards to form a sick act which would make young children cry.
Compromising of the demonic blasting of Ben Aldred on drums, the guttural growls and satanic screams of Paul Hartburn on vocals, the 7-string sodomising riffs of Ken Turner and Dan Rochester on guitars and the brutal groove of Dan Jones on Bass.
From Dawn of Chaos’s first gig in February 2005 they gained an instant reputation as one of the best live bands on the circuit and quickly started to establish themselves as a significant force in the death metal scene. Dawn of Chaos’s technical proficient brutality yet groove laden death metal has allowed them to share the stage with the most brutal of bands and also those outside of the death metal genre. Constantly upping there game and holding there own on stage in support of such heavyweights as Gutworm ,Entombed, Gorerotted, Raging Speedhorn, Sikth, Ephel Duath, Severe Torture, Evile, Desecration, Ted Maul, Orange Goblin, Man Must Die, Anaal Nathrakh, Trigger The Bloodshed, Dam, The Rotted and many more, Dawn of Chaos have never looked out of place.
Major highlights for the band so far have been opening the very first sold out 2005 Damnation festival in Manchester. Dawn of Chaos’s stunning performance earned rave reviews and they also got voted the 7th best unsigned band in Terrorizer magazine. Another major highlight for the band was a supporting slot next to Tomas Lindberg’s (Ex At the Gates) current band The Great Deceiver. Dawn of Chaos performed a version of At the Gates classic Blinded by fear with Tomas joining them on stage to sing. In 2008 the band got asked to play Terrorizer magazines Christmas bash in Londons Camden alongside The Rotted, Dam, Dead Beyond Buried, Theoktony and Nailed.
2009 will see the band release there first official release through Grindethic records (A split cd entitled Northern Discomfort with Liverpool’s Neuroma). Shows such as Causing Chaos for Cancer Fest (with Desecration, Dam, Trigger the Bloodshed and more), Scumstock (Akercocke, Lazarus Blackstar and many more), 2 s UK tours being planned as well as recording there debut album in which the band are looking for label support for. Don’t blink in 2009 as you don’t want to miss Dawn of Chaos.
