Writing (of course), reading, boating, diving, fishing, snorkeling, singing in the car at the top of my lungs, and any activity that involves Jack Daniel's.

Burnside (RIP), Hank Williams (Jr and Sr), Live (the band), Pink, Phil Collins, Eminem, Melissa Etheridge, AC/DC, Kracker, Nelly, ZZ Top, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Tim McGraw, Paula Cole, C.W. McCall, Peter Gabriel, Roger Miller, Alice Cooper, KISS, Def Leppard, Donna Summer, Gretchen Wilson, The Carpenters, Dean Martin, Tom Jones, Prince (is that still what he's going by these days?), Johnny Cash, Chuck Mangione, Jim Stafford, Van Halen, Big and Rich, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, and all the gang on Hee Haw.
Movies
ALL 3 Lord of the Rings, My Fair Lady, The Producers, Sideways, Gone With the Wind, Legends of the Fall, Anchorman, The Girl in the Cafe', Good Will Hunting, anything from Monty Python, A Few Good Men, Grease, Caddyshack, the original Star Wars trilogy, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Television
As a rule, if it's not on HBO, I don't watch it (because FUCK commercials). But I've been known to break the rule for "Deadliest Catch" (hell yeah!), "Two and a Half Men," and the occasional "Family Guy" and "South Park" episodes I happen to stumble on. Oh, and we have every season of "House" on DVD.
Books
I've enjoyed A LOT of books, so there's no way to list all the good ones. Most recent favorites are Brave Companions (David McCullough), High Fidelity (Nick Hornby), and A Face Without a Heart (Rick R. Reed--who's here on my Top Friends, so check him out!). All-time favorites include: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy (Tolkien) (since junior high-I'm not a post-movie convert), The Stand and most everything else by Stephen King (fan since high school), Interview With a Vampire and the Sleeping Beauty Chronicles (Rice), Stranger in a Strange Land (Heinlein), America The Book (Jon Stewart and the Daily Show), ALL Harry Potter (Rowling) and Nancy Drew (Keene). Oh, yeah...and this one:
Heroes
Dane Cook and Bob Ritchie (aka Kid Rock) for showing us all how shit gets done; Tim McGraw and Faith Hill for still being recklessly in love; Oprah Winfrey for her honesty and generosity; Stephen King for sucking us in; Alonzo Mourning and Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat) for their amazing strength, determination, and kindness; Neil Young for his vision and philosophy; Ross Perot for his guts; the Seattle Seahawks for going all the way to the big stage; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and everyone who's served in the armed forces (including my son) for their bravery, sense of duty, and sacrifice for the greater good; and my parents, my children, my husband, Scott, and anyone who's ever pulled themselves off the bottom and not blamed someone else for putting them there.

About me: My name is Dawn Scovill. (You might want to write that down.) I'm the author of IMMORTAL BONDS, a paranormal suspense novel released in March 2007, and the soon-to-be unveiled, kick-ass mainstream novel CHASING KID ROCK (or CKR for the clued-in). I'm also a wife, mother of two (one's a teenager, the other's a soldier in the US Army--Hooah, Motherf.....s!!), and a former SexEd columnist for South Florida's Closer magazine.
But, despite all the things I AM, I've been a lot of things before today. And your guess is as good as mine what I'll be tomorrow. If you want to know more than that, you'll have to ask...or, better yet, READ MY BLOG. (Seriously. You might even learn something--not from me, necessarily, but certainly from the fantastic people who comment. And what else have you got to do while you're here, sitting on your ass, contemplating whether or not you should check out some new porn before your other half gets home?)
If you hadn't already guessed, some of the material here is UNSUITABLE FOR MINORS AND THE EASILY OFFENDED. If you're either one, I suggest you consider logging off and going back to that website you found on quilting before I say something that pisses you off. :)
WHAT'S THE P-LIST? If you're REALLY brave, 18 or older, AND not related to me, ask me to add you to my blog's Preferred or P-List. As a rule, P-List posts don't merely push the PC envelope, they shove it against a concrete wall and beat the shit out of it.
But that's just my opinion. ;)
Who I'd like to meet: ALL the people you see on my Friends list.
