About me:

Dawn E. Scire is a freelance entertainment and broadcasting correspondent / columnist.
Her major client is The Sarasota Herald-Tribune, a New York Times affiliate, where her work runs weekly in its "Ticket" entertainment publication (Thursdays).
Ms. Scire currently authors the serial column, "Local Beats," featuring all manner of original music makers (from DJs, dance bands and death metal-heads, to country and classical composers) who reside and perform largely in the "941" areas (Sarasota, Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto and parts of north Lee, plus southern Pinellas and Hillsborough counties).
She has 18 years of vast and varied experiences in the media industry, having written as both an entertainment and a radio/broadcasting industry correspondent, and authored feature works for the Herald-Tribune for the past 11 years.
Dawn had produced its six-year, weekly entertainment beat ("The Noise Ordinance") along with the recently discontinued (July, 2008) "Making Noise" (six years), and the eight-year-running "Radio Talk"--where her persona "Radio Babe" was a popular fixture. All columns ran concurrently during their runs.
In addition, she pens separate features articles, and for other publications, as needed.
Previously, Dawn was a music columnist and photographer for the free Hip Magazine publication in New Haven, Conn., until its demise in the mid-1990s.
She also was media liaison and co-manager at Last Rites Productions (a Port Charlotte, Fla., entity representing the bands Last Rites and Carnival of Soul), managed Norwalk death metal outfit Cyberchrist, had performed various promotional duties for industrial band Quest of the Moon Breed and photographed early nu-metalers Blind Justice (both of New Haven, Conn.).
In a previous existence in corporate America, Ms. Scire was a word processing specialist at Gartner Group, also temping at various advertising firms where she worked on marketing campaigns for high profile clients such as Cadillac and the NFL.
She also was associated with companies such as World Wrestling Entertainment (when it was the WWF), Vestron Pictures and the Wall Street Journal.

Bands, musicians, performers, DJs, emcees, artistes, promoters, clubowners, distributers, record labels, writers, movers, shakers, etc., for inclusion in Ms. Scire's weekly columns and/or profiles.
Ms. Scire's "Local Beats" column is a VERY concise (250 words) area roundup in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune's Ticket entertainment section on the first and third Thursday. On opposite weeks (second and fourth of each month) she interviews original local bands. (When the occasional fifth Thursday happens along, regional radio DJs get the spotlight.)
Should you wish to be considered, please request such directly in your subject line (or friend request) remembering that the newspaper covers, largely, "941" areas (Sarasota, Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto counties) while parts of north Lee and southern Pinellas and Hillsborough counties are included.
Deadlines are generally 7-to-10 days in advance except during holidays when all manner of timekeeping abruptly accelerates and one must prepare ridiculously ahead.
Ms. Scire doesn't accept requests from single men (unless it's someone she knows), street teams, or singlular events--she will Favorite these, however, to mark on the calendar.
