  • Bio

With a sound that combines elements of jazz, pop, folk and Latin, songwriters Richard and Kate describe their style as 'mongrel dogs of jazz-pop fusion and proud of it' although this is probably more accurate as a description of their attitude to music than their style, which features soft acoustic jazzy guitar with folksy vocals and flute or penny whistle. Formed in November 2008 and based in Kent in the UK, DaylightSaving (DaySave to our friends) are a jazz-pop/folk duo who draw inspiration from Steely Dan, Pat Metheny, Miles Davis, Yellowjackets, Weather Report, Nick Drake, John Martyn, Michael Franks, Stevie Wonder, Brecker Brothers, Level 42, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joni Mitchell and Silje Nergaard, among others. Although happiest playing our own original songs, we're always willing to consider requests for covers for special occasions, and can provide a full two hour set of more traditional, well known songs if required. Please get in touch if you'd like us to play at your party or wedding. Although based in Kent, we're happy to travel. For bookings and other enquiries email us at daylight_saving@live.co.uk.
