Hello!
I am a professional drummer based in Melbourne, Australia.
I play and tour with various bands, and also teach 4 days a week at schools.
My ultimate vision of the drummer I would like to develop into would be along these lines:
The onstage presence and energy of an Abe Laboriel Jnr or a Travis Barker; combined with the creative musicality of a Stewart Copeland or a Will Calhoun; the incorporation of a hybrid electronic/acoustic set-up aka Akira Jimbo or Johnny Rabb; the deep pocket of a Steve Jordan or the John Bonham, and the showmanship of a Tommy Lee or a Gene Krupa.
Although I’m a long way from achieving that(!!), these elements are always in my mind when I play.
Here’s some of my achievements to date:
- Played in most major venues in Australia including: Rod Laver Arena, Festival Hall, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Brisbane Festival Hall, Sydney Entertainment Centre, Myer Music Bowl, and many clubs.
- Numerous live television performances including The Footy Show, Channel V, The Midday Show, and Hey Hey It’s Saturday.
- Several National and International tours.
- Appeared in various film clips screened on MTV, Rage, Channel V, and Video Hits.
- Runner-up in Australia’s Best Up-and-coming Drummer Competition.
- Finalist in Australia’s Faster Drummer Competition.
- Recorded tracks in some of Australia’s top studios for signed artists.
- Endorsements from Pearl drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth drumsticks and Remo drumheads.
