Passion & Determination. Those 2 words accurately describe everything that has been put into the metal band Day of Reckoning (DoR) since their conception in December of 2005. You can always rely on them to push the boundaries of their sonic footprint upon this planet. With influences ranging from Metallica to Dream Theater to Killswitch Engage, you will always hear diversity in their music. DoR brings a fresh, new sound to the metal world.
Live, on stage in front of fans is where you will find DoR at their strongest. They give you epic riffs, blazing guitar harmonies, heavy and wholehearted vocals, thunderous bass lines, and vibrant drumming. At every show, they deliver 110% from the first note to the last.
The band consists of four members, each playing their part in bringing something purely original to the table. There are no weak links in this group. Day of Reckoning is Beau Bullock, Cody Hatmaker, Mike Collins, and Jeremy Hopkins. Lead guitarist/singer, Beau, fronts the band. Cody takes on the rhythm guitarist role as well as playing some leads and singing backup vocals. Keeping the low end strong, Mike demonstrates amazing skill on bass guitar, and also sings backup. Finally, the power and drive of the band lies in the hands of Jeremy behind the massive drum kit. He also sings some backup vocals.
Lakeland, Florida, is where the band’s roots lie. In December of 2005, DoR actively started practice sessions to prepare for playing live shows. In May of 2006, DoR had its first show in Mt. Dora, FL. Ever since that first show, they have been gigging Florida almost every weekend, meeting great local bands and making new friends and fans. Since ’06, Day of Reckoning has played over 70 shows.
In the end, Day of Reckoning will impress, inspire, and motivate you. Only the future knows where this group will go, but you can be sure to find them on the stage throughout the state of Florida and in other South-Eastern states very soon.
