Coming from a town where heavy metal is mostly shunned, Day of Ruin is a crawling from the abyss of small town America. Each member has played in a variety of different bands together dating back to 2000. Such bands as Indecensy and Within A Tragedy. After crossing each other's paths they finally became Day of Ruin. Day of Ruin have been writing music since the middle of Summer 2008. Their desire to play out became more heightened as they saw the potential in their music. During the writing process they added a second guitar player, (ex-Within A Tragedy bassist) Tom Santangelo to the mix. He had to leave due to his busy schedule. After auditioning guitar players Sara Doolin was without a doubt a perfect fit for our second guitarist. As a whole our music is powerful; with powerful guitar and cut throat riffage. The bass locks in with the heavy hitting drum rhythms to create a percussive storm of ferocious beats in such songs as "Invasion" and title track "The Fall".
Hoping to release a CD by the summer of 2009, the members of Day of Ruin have been recording tracks at KrackerJack Studio in New Albany, Indiana. Rob Payne is handling the engineering duties.
