Interests

  • General

Home Theater, going to music functions and free concerts. I like putting on fundraisers for various charities, at least the legitimate ones. Children are my soft spot. It's not fair that kids have to suffer with chronic or terminal diseases. Anything I can do to raise money makes me feel good. I've worked with poor children living on skid row and with special needs children. Unfortunately some of my peers were jealous of me because of the repore' I have with them so they made it possible for me to lose my job. I've made it a promise to hold no ill feelings towards these people. It's the perverbial question, "What Would Jesus Do?" so I have forgiven them but I can't forget.
  • Music

I listen to Blues and Jazz mostly. I grew up listening to Classic Rock like The James Gang, Jimi Hendrix, Cream (Eric Clapton before he went solo) Lesley West and Mountain, The Doors, Iron Butterfly and The Outlaws. Country is just feel good music but people don't realize, it makes more sense than they think. It has great harmonies and isn't that tears in your beer kind of stories anymore It's very positive and uplifting. Christian Music is inspiring and has a healing way about it. Music is the universal language and should never be silenced but if it has a negative message then it shouldn't even be available to the general public, especially our kids. These writers who create this stuff obviously have negative issues and should give the lyrics to a counselor to hopefully get some real help. Instead they record it so the younger generation get brainwashed into thinking that the whole world is coming down on them and they need to hide it by getting high or even taking their own lives. As far far as the cussing in the lyrics, what's that all about. But if that's your thing, don't ever say you weren't told because I'll be the first one to say, "I TOLD YOU SO" but I'll also be the first one to give you help too.
  • Movies

I enjoy enjoy the classic movies like The Star Trek 1 through 4 and the original series. Science fiction has always intrigued me and I am obsessed with time travel so I enjoy movies about that. Some movies include: Time after Time, original Superman movies with Christopher Reeve, Dragonheart, Eragon, Ghost Rider, Wild Hogs, Blues Brothers (both movies), Ray, too many more to mention.
  • Television

My favorite shows are Chuck, CSI Miami, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Smallville, Numb3rs, Entertainment Tonight, American Idol and Nashville Star. I enjoy a lot of classic T.V. as well. I take a lot of interest in the news locally and nationally. From time to time I enjoy the Sci-Fi channel. I like the old Twilight Zone and Outer Limits series. Some of the original movies can get real nasty so I don't bother with them. T.V. shows having to do with witches or demons is just wrong since it tends to confuse people about what the spiritual world is really about. As far as violence, there's enough out there in the real world, we don't need shows to encourage it. As the old saying goes, "GARBAGE IN-GARBAGE OUT"
  • Books

I read anything that has to do with the music industry. I like the music periodicals like MIX MAGAZINE, ELECTRONIC MUSICIAN and EQ; you would be surprised how much you can learn about the recording and producing industry through them. They also give you a heads up on products coming out on the market.
  • Heroes

Most importantly Jesus Christ for without him I probably would have lost my mind by now. My wife and kids, people who help the less fortunate without looking for a pat on the back or anything in return for their own benefit. Charlie Daniels whom I have met, Billy Graham and the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's kind of a mixture but they all share a few things in common, honesty, greatness humbleness and the desire to help others. They have never let fame or fortune go to their head. I really admire that in a person especially when they are celebrities. When people are smart enough to straighten their own lives out and are willing to admit and share their short comings that could change a life for the better, that's a true hero in my opinion.

About me:

My name is Vinny I am the owner/operator/CEO of Daystar Music Productions in Port Richey, FL. I run a recording studio from my home. I have recorded many aspiring artists in my studio and to hope one day fulfill their dream to get them into the music industry. I have worked with many people such as our local country entertainer Dusty Ward, Mikki Taylor who has sung many genres of music and is also trained in ventrilaquism. I have worked with a young lady who is currently living in Nashville right now Crystal Lee, my daughter Theresa and son Matt, Daniel Lee Martin who I urged to go to Nashville and now is touring the U.S. at least 6 months out of the year and many others. I have also had the privilege of working with singer/songwriter "MARK GRAY" who has written songs for Alabama who won a Grammy for two of Mark's songs, "TAKE ME DOWN and THE CLOSER YOU GET". He is also a former member of the band, "EXILE" famous for the hit song "I WANNA KISS YOU ALL OVER". Mark was kind enough to reproduce three songs for Dusty Ward's Debut CD. I am also a musician myself and have been playing since the age of 7 years old. I play guitar, bass, and keyboard. I have written a few songs and co-written some as well. I am a studio partner of Discmakers, and a member of Broadcast Music Inc (BMI) since 1985.

I'd like to meet people who have a love for music as much as I do. I would love to meet recording mogul Clive Davis, James Straud, Reba McIntire, Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney, David Foster, Carrie Underwood and yes, even Simon Cowell.

I don't know the story behind the name. Good question!! I'll have to ask.

I met the bass player and guitar player at a drummer's house I used to finish out the Side FX gigs.

They called me a couple weeks later and told their keyboard player quit and that they had this
house gig coming up. It's been working so far and it's steady.

I can't complain. I saw you and Eric in the paper.
    That's cool!! Good Luck!!

NEW MUSIC, HERE & NOW!!! Just wanted to let you know I've been hard at work in the studio for my long overdue sophomore album, and have just posted a new track for you to preview. The song is called "SLOW ME DOWN" and it's a demo that I did at home, co-written by the very talented Johnny Reid! I am so excited about the new album that I just couldn't wait to share SOMETHING with everybody, so I hope you enjoy this little "sneak peak"!! I look forward to hearing from you about the track, and encourage you to check out the new pictures I've put up. Hope you are having a great week! Cyndi
