Please note, we are NOT the group that meets at the Dayton Library every month. We're the other group of ghost hunters that have "Dayton", "Ghost", and "Hunter" in our name. Also note that if you are writing to inquire about joining our group, we are a closed group and are not seeking new members at this time.

The Dayton Ohio Ghosthunters Society is actually based out of New Lebanon, Ohio. We are available to investigate in the following towns in Ohio: New Lebanon, Farmersville, Germantown, Gratis, Brookville, Lewisburg, Liberty, Moraine, West Carrollton, Clayton, Englewood, and of course, Dayton. We try to stick to just checking out places that are local to where we all live, as there are at least a dozen paranormal groups in Montgomery County alone. We have been investigating the paranormal since December of 2007. Regardless of whether the activity is happening in your home, place of business, or an historical location, we are available to investigate at no charge to you. Our hope is to provide answers to the unexplained events that are going on around you.
Our group doesn't want to have the next big paranormal TV show or movie. We aren't about having our own radio show. We really aren't interested in publicity or joining up with any other national, regional, or local paranormal organizations to become just another number. We have an eclectic group of individuals that are first and foremost friends (some even relatives). We love going out and hunting for ghosts, doing the research, and solving the puzzles that each case throws our way. Sure, we have groups (both national and local) that we're affiliated with and consider good friends. But DOGS is unique unto itself and has made an effort to keep our individuality through hard work and dedication to our group and those who choose to call us for help. This may be a hobby for us, something to pass the time on weekends, but it's also our passion.
DOGS can do historical research on your location as well as utilize an array of electronic equipment and computers during our onsite investigation to capture evidence of hauntings and the paranormal. Visit our Mission Page for further insight on what services we offer .
If you would like to subscribe to the DOGS mailing list visit this page. Periodically we will send out emails with information about upcoming events that we are involved in that will be open to the public. These may include charity events, fundraisers, or other items that involve Dayton and the paranormal. You won't be flooded with emails every day (you may go months without hearing from us). Just be sure to add our email address (see above) to your Safe Senders list or contacts. Alternatively, you may also download our contact information in vCard format.

OUR MISSION:
DOGS will do its utmost to obtain a professional and confidential rapport with each investigation. We know that while people's beliefs in the paranormal may run the gamut from total acceptance to outright hostility, society as a whole has made it tough to call upon or even locate a team of paranormal investigators like us and ask for help.
We can do historical research on your property which includes deed transfers (and circumstances) as well as any noteworthy events that have happened. With your permission, we will bring various electronic devices to your location in order to catch evidence of paranormal activity. Details of your case will not be shared or published anywhere outside of the DOGS member base. If you wish for further confidentiality, you may request that only the founding members be involved in the investigation. We hold your right to privacy above all else.
We have been investigating the paranormal since 2007, and while we may not be as big as some other groups, we make up for this in our passion towards finding answers. Our goal is to find a way to help allay your fears and calm the situation while at the same time assist in bringing about an understanding of the problem and why it could be occurring. Our group will take your experiences and concerns into consideration while we set up our electronic devices and attempt to either recreate or debunk your personal experiences. After our investigation, we will share with you what we have found and discuss what we think is the root of the problem. As well as our services being free of charge, we will also provide, at your request, digital copies of any evidence we may obtain.
Keep in mind that we are not "Ghostbusters," and we make no claim to be able to remove entities from your location. The service we offer is to determine if what you are experiencing is a haunting and assess what type of haunting it is and the severity. If spirit removal or a house blessing is deemed necessary, we have contacts in the community that we can put you in touch with who are fully qualified to do this.
