Sounds Like

Dawn Chorus started around 2003 as a 3-piece. Luke Webb, Kevin Rowland, and James Hutchinson. We started to get a little bit good when Pete Hall picked up the mic around 2004. Peter Simpson found the sticks later that year. Since the beginning we have written around 35 songs (that we can remember) and recorded three demos: The moody demo (2003)
Dawn Chorus know where you live and we're gonna throw a party at your house when your parents go on holiday (2004) ...are pricks (2005) All of which can be burned off and sent to you if you so wish. Dawn Chorus are pricks is now on this page in it's entirety. It was recorded in the summer of 2005 by Paul 'Vet' Grant (Fm/Am) on his reel to reel at Mr. Gigs in Bletchley. We have written a whole bunch of songs since then but have had no chance to record them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------Luke has lived in Leeds since 2005, we have still been playing shows and we toured in 2006. But as time has gone on, the shows and new songs have been fewer and farther between. Kevin, Pete and Pete currently live in London. We dont get together much at the minute. But we do still exist. If you would really like us to play a show and can afford to maybe chuck us a couple of quid (we have to use public transport to get around the country) we may just be able to do it! Luke and Kevin have played a couple of shows as a 2-piece entitled "Hot and Bothered" using unwritten Dawn Chorus songs, if you really need a taste of the chorus we'll do it. Just as much fun! (expect a myspace soon) --------------------------------------------------------------------- I am currently writing a (very) detailed history of Dawn Chorus, which will be put on here as a blog. Chapter one is almost finished and will be posted soon. There is also a list of every song we ever wrote, and im trying to write a list of every show we ever played, which is proving to be extremely difficult. The reason for all of this nostalgia is that the future of the Chorus is currently at its most uncertain. And we are sort of slowly entering some kind of hibernation state. When we re-emerge, we may look and sound a little different. And we will certainly have a new name. (dawn chorus sounded cool to us at the age of 17. it doesnt anymore) -------------------------------------------------------------- LAST YEAR A BURGLAR BROKE MY HEART AND STOLE MY LAPTOP. TAKING WITH IT (LITERALLY) HUNDREDS OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE CHORUS, DATING FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. IF YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF US AT ALL OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOES, PLEASE CONTACT US. WE'LL BE VERY GRATEFUL. likewise with flyers etc. Thank you for reading.
