June 25, 2009
I've been getting tons of emails, texts and phone calls about when our next show is going to be. Unfortunately, there will not be any DBF! shows until after this summer. We're currently in the middle of setting up shows for the fall, along with doing band interviews for our upcoming DEADBEATTV! webisodes and DEADBEATZINE, both due out in late September.
Any bands interested in being interviewed for either of these, please contact me (Dee) as soon as possible to schedule a day. Hope everyone has a good summer, and we'll see you in the fall!
(P.S. We're going to be posting shows in our calender throughout the summer, but they are not presented by DBF!, we're just recommending that you get off of your asses and check out some good jams this summer.)

Originally started out as a website back in 2003, I (Dee) gradually began to book shows and promote more bands through out New Jersey and Philadelphia after my friend Scott, from THISISAHOLDUP!, asked me to take over some of his show dates. I booked numerous shows for a few years and then I decided to take a break in the summer of 2006. In September of 2008, after a much needed hiatus, I decided to come back. I changed the name that I booked shows under and got the word out. I recruited two of my friends, Fig, who ran shows under the name Fight The Scene during my hiatus, to help me out with promoting, and Eric Preuss, who used to do live sound at all of my old shows, to once again provide his services as 'sound guy', along with recording our first ever live sampler . In December of 2008, Scott contacted me about jumping on DBF! to do booking and promotions, and I couldn't have asked for a better person to work with. So here we are, DEADBEATFRIENDS! (Just to clear up any confusion, our shows will always start with "DBF! presents".) To see a list of the bands I've previously booked, click on the blog entitled "2004-2006".

OPENING: First, we'd like to start out by saying that we have been doing this for quite a few years and we know how things work. We've done enough shows to know that it's best for everyone if everything runs as smoothly as possible, so we always try our hardest to make that happen. We provide the PA and have our own sound tech. Now, some bands are pretty adamant about not opening a show, or even playing second. For starters, when we book a band, we hope to continue booking that band in the future, which means that you won't always play the same slot. Besides that, we understand quality and when it comes to slots, we try to be as fair as we possibly can. (Also, if any bands out there would like to volunteer to be an opener on any shows just to get some playing time in, that would greatly help us out. Email us with the subject as “Opener”.) When it comes to admission, it's pretty standard. In order to respect the venue, the fans, the other bands and ourselves, we ask that no band try to sneak anyone in or pass someone off as a band member.
PRE-SALE TICKET INFORMATION: The only times that a DBF! show will require bands to sell pre-sale tickets is when there is a larger band headlining or an excessive amount of bands playing. When playing one of these shows, you're band will be expected to sell a certain amount of tickets, but don't worry because the amount you receive will reflect your band's credibility.)
CONFIRMING A SHOW: When we get a show date, we ask several bands to be on the roster, but in the mean time, we get tons of requests from other bands to be on the same show. Slots fill up incredibly fast. If you're interested in playing one of our shows and we message or email your band about a specific date, please try to respond to us as quickly as possible, whether it be to decline or confirm.
ADMISSION: This goes for kids at the shows and bands. Every band gets one free pass so they can bring in a merch guy or photographer or whoever. Since DBF! is responsible for anything that happens at these venues, we do have our own security at every show. So do us a favor, don't cause any problems. Everyone is there to have a good time.
Photo shoots are FREE of CHARGE. Any band in need of digital photos should email Dee with "Photo Shoot" as the subject title for more information.

Coming soon.
Before messaging me with any questions, please read everything on this page, that way nothing gets overlooked. After reading everything, fill out the mini-form in the NOTICE TO ALL BANDS! blog and send it to me in an email with the subject as 'Booking App'. By doing this you will help me stay organized and I'll be able to book you sooner. So when picking out your desired time slot, just pick 1 through 5 (1 being first and 5 being last). I know that this stuff can get annoying, but this is the most efficient and effective way to get shit done! So thanks in advance!
