DeadBeatPoetry is blend of a variety of influences, musical and otherwise. Its Rock n Roll in its broadest definition. Bringing the essence of rock back from the old school; the raw and gritty elegance that seems to be absent in today's deluded music scene. DeadBeatPoetry puts the dirt back in the music, music that came from the ground, with roots in Blues that branch out all the way to Rock "and all point in between"*.
Although outputting mostly rock n roll, DeadBeatPoetry has influences from a wide range of genres: Jazz, Blues, Funk, Country, Reggae, Latin, etc... the list could go on and on. You can hear these influences in the live performances, during extended sections of the songs. Extended sections full of spontaneous improvisation that remain rooted in simplicity and don't leave the audience behind. This 3 piece band always gives 100% energy and rocks the F@k out of the room.
DeadBeatPoetry has been playing as a band since 2006. They are all seasoned musicians and have many years gigging experience. DeadBeatPoetry has played throughout the Metroplex as well as many major cities around the U.S. , including: New York, Oakland, Chicago and Austin.
whether you are a band or music lover we want to connect, if you are REAL and want to help the music scene grow. There is too much fake shit out there!(people, music, film, art, etc.)
I just looked at your calendar ... I'm sorry! ... now I'm sad ... :( ... Last night, though, I stepped back in my past with a longtime guitar player friend's band. His bass player was the original ZZ Top bass player in 1969. See ya soon!!!
