We always get asked this question wherever we go, where did we get the name 20 Dead Camels???
The name 20 Dead Camels first come about in 1984 when Cliff was drinking in the Red Lion pub in Stevenage old town. On one Friday night a drunken bloke walks in and asks what does TDC stand for on the side of your van? As Cliff was in a band called Top Dead Centre at the time, he had the initials TDC painted on the van sides. The bloke shouted out Does it stand for Twenty Dead Camels? and from then on, the name was born.
So there ya have it, you heard it from a camels mouth, now stop bleeding asking...lol
We would like to welcome Fran to the band who has just the voice we have been searching for, she will be making her first appearance with the camels at the Vincent Bar on the 16th June
