Dead Center formed the summer of 1998 and lasted until summer of 2003. This page is dedicated to the original line-up.. From 1998 - 2000. Dead Center was a punk/ska band from Myrtle Beach, SC, formed from 4 great friends with a dream. They were just teens when the band started... Jamie (17) on guitar, taught his little brother Jeff (14) how to play bass, and their friend Chip (18) took over on drums. Good friend Ed (16) soon joined the band on vocals. They wrote 10 songs QUICK and booked their 1st show.. (Jamie's 18th birthday) September 11th, 1998 @ Slacker 77 in downtown Myrtle Beach... the rest is history. Two years later the band split in two, and the brothers (jamie and jeff) decided to keep it going (with a new singer and drummer) They were togther for 3 more years..
Jamie, Jeff and Ed are now in SharkLegs

Attn to all who have never heard of Dead Center. the Ray Gradys did their first two tours with Dead Center, (when we were wee young lads) and still haven't found a band that we've had so much fun with. Hell I even have their stinkin tattoo on my arm..
haha

We will always be the "boys of surfside." still have to thank the stoner ass skaters for the "so bored..." line. Remember the days in the shed rockin out some weezer!
Dead Center and the Ray Gradys had some of the most fun that two bands could have on the road and at each other's places.
They were a match made in hell, and we still haven't found a band that we have had as much fun with !
