I like a lot of things. Above anything my life is driven by the love of drawing, retro video games, great music, 30s - 50s Americana, 80s gadgets and nostalgic crap, most J culture, more drawing, pulp horror and power naps. More to follow.
Music
You know when you meet someone new and inevitably you come out with "so what kind of music do you like?"
and 99% of the time the other person will say "i like a bit of everything"
but then you talk to them about Charley Patton and they're like "oh, i'm not really into Blues - its a bit depressing"
well, i actually like a bit of everything.
Movies
Lots and Lots. 80's, Noir, Monsters, Zombies, Wes Anderson. you get the idea.
Television
I don't watch enough TV to justify having a license really, i only watch Planet Earth and i usually forget thats on too.
The shows i really love don't really air anymore- old horror/sci-fi series like lost in space, x-bomber, the twilight zone, the invaders, eerie indiana etc. and a whole bunch of cartoons from my childhood.
Books
I can't really get into fiction in book form, i read "Ham on Rye" which my friend lent me (and i still have, sorry Luke) i really enjoyed it, but i mostly read reference or art books.

I'm really not good at writing these things without giving up half way through so i figured maybe i'll just add a few likes and dislikes on a weekly basis until its done...
here's some to start out with -
i like:
illustration, buying presents, attention to detail, hallowe'en, treading on empty cigarette cartons in the street, rants, animal tracks in the snow, girls in pillbox hats with veils, recognising reused sound effects in different movies, and people 'trying' to be sexy. i've got a bit of a fetish for the little concave buttons on arcade games (they're so perfect to touch) and like Eastern food too. mmmm-mmm.
i dislike:
loud phlegmy mouth breathing, when Alex Kidd gets referred to as "Alex the Kid", people who brag about how much they can drink despite being old enough to know better, canned laughter, warm toilet seats (eww) fad whores and paying tax. also i'm sick of chubby dames being referred to as "real women" i know plenty of girls who are both slim AND tangible, i assure you. ha ha.
Who I'd like to meet: generally, open minded people, creative folk etc. also those who arent too concerned with what everyone else is getting up to and just live their own lives.

Anyway a colleague of mine just set up this forum thing, I dunno if you use twitter but its called Twitsketch http://www.twitsketch.freeforums.org/index.php totally pointless telling you this if you don't use twitter. But I think its a good idea anyway, basically a daily theme to doodle to (or maybe you have enough inspiration, who knows!)
