the longer, rambling version:
wandering the Village late at night. dirty dancing on crowded floors. dicewalks. endless late-night subway rides. people watching. coffee and conversation with friends. solemn contemplation. babbling nonsensically. talking to bums and tattoo artists in North Beach. getting ink done. getting into trouble. (sometimes.) anything remotely exhibitionist. (sometimes.) sharing cigarettes with strangers. sharing intimate moments with strangers. karaoke. drunken karaoke. movieokie. pinning boys against brick walls. making out in dark alleys. dim sum runs. crashing art gallery openings. taking dirty pictures at the black-and-white photobooths at the Musee Mechanique. giant, man-made roadside oddities. freakshows. flashlight tag. midnight movies. midnight movies hosted by angry drag queens. good shows. neighborhood crawling with good friends. staring at the ocean. running into oncoming traffic. getting lost. dying. living. learning. making mistakes. falling in love.

hey, remember all of those annoying bands that started to pop up in the late-90's/early 00's? yeah, them plus all that obnoxiously obscure shit from the 70's, 80's and early 90's, with some random Euro-pop from the 60's just to be even more irritating. in short, I enjoy two extremes: songs that sound like quiet, lovely dreams held in kid's gloves or danceable opuses involving killer bass lines and introverts rocking Cassio keyboards. that said, you can occasionally catch me dancing naked to the following (and if it's not listed, I just stopped keeping track): Black Tambourine, Matt & Kim, the Blow, the Besties, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Smiths, The Cure, Joy Division, New Order, Echo & the Bunnymen, Infidels, Bravo Silva, Interpol, Dirty on Purpose, Young Marble Giants, The New Pornographers, the Magnetic Fields, Animal Collective, I'm from Barcelona, Architecture in Helsinki, Takka Takka, Azure Ray, Of Montreal, Metric, Broken Social Scene, the Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, The Robot Ate Me, Tom Ze, Jeffrey (and Jack) Lewis, Kimya Dawson, Lach, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Beat Happening, The Crabs, Holly Golightly, Helen Love, Dream Bitches, Juniper Moon, Le Tigre, Electrocute, Jason Trachtenburg/The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, The Stills, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kim Novak, Beulah, the Envelopes, The Tyde, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Dandy Warhols, Frausdots, The Rosebuds, All-Time Quarterback!, Death Cab For Cutie, the Postal Service, Manitoba, Serge Gainsbourg, the Dresden Dolls, the English Beat, the Bodysnatchers, the Dead Milkmen, Gene Defcon, Atom And His Package, the Aquabats, TMBG, X, The Rapture, The Clash, The Pixies, Eagles of Death Metal, Cibo Matto, The Specials, The Rave-Ups, Devo, The Violent Femmes, the Buzzcocks, any/most every antifolk artist, any Matador or Rough Trade compilation (specifically Indiepops). the K records label is great, as is anything off Olive Juice Records (go go Major Matt Mason USA!). also...I adore The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black. (all other live shows pale in comparison.)

Awww, thanks for the compliment! I've had the bangs for a while now, maybe 6 months or more? Don't remember; I had been growing my hair out a bit, but I chopped off the layers about a month ago; now I get to regrow it again. :)
Where are you right now? I promise, next time you are in SF, not even a loose ligament in a plaster cast will stop us from hanging out. :) xoxo
