Biography
+ 1996 ... Old school friends Lemoncello (vocals) and Dee D. (gtr) get together with D-Fault (DJ, bass and programming) to record the weird 4 tracks EP: "Cumbia Junkies". The first deadMenems incarnation was born.
+ 2001 ... The band plays some experimental gigs and gets notoriety in the Buenos Aires underground scene (Cemento, El Guiso, etc.).
+ 2003 ... Dead Menems meet the Experimental Cumbia guru, Dick El Demasiado. He invites them to join the FestiCumEx (Experimental Cumbia Festival, in Hotel Bauen).
+ The 1st. official album appears with the name Dead Menems (AKA "Mal Tocado, mal cantado, mal grabado").
+
DJ Villa Diamante remixes "El Demonio Paraguayo", a hit in the underground dance scene.
+ 2004/06 ... D-Fault drops the band. Lemoncello and Dee D. cast different musicians to go on with the project (Dador de Amor, Sergio Pappi, Guri, Martincito and Kate Mouzzo among others).
+ The band plays several venues and barfly clubs (Liberarte, Rodney Bar, Niceto, Mundo Mix, Portable FestiCuMex...).
+ 2006 ... The experimental video clip of "Socios de Paja" becomes a hit via YouTube.
+ 2007 ... The song "Gordo Droga" becomes the first experimental cumbia song to be broadcasted regularly in a commercial radio station (Rock & Pop), winning El Ranking del Daño contest. On Dec. 28 they play the song live @ the radio (Falso Impostor, with "Gillespie").
+ 2008 ... DJ Drole (AKA El Remolón) remixes "El talibán del Amor", track included in the Album "Digital Cumbia Beats I", edited by Zizek Records.
+ The band anounces the limited edition of an EP with new versions of old tracks ("Talibán del Amor", "Gordo Droga" and "Ganador").
+ Lemoncello and Dee D. get in the studio for recording new material with guest musicians: Fernando Isaia (Trumpet), He-Man (Bass), Nacho Ahora (Vocals) and the ANG Brothers (Keyboards, strings).
+ Dead Menems plays @ Confitería La Ideal (ArteBA party)
+ "Maiquel Yacsn" realesed for the VA compilation MyGeneration (also includes songs by Kumbia Queers and Motosierra, among others).
+ "Dub del Amigo" realesed for New Year 09.
+ Venues w/ "El Remolón" (Zizek), w/ Carlitos "El Cabra", Orge&Caro, Sara Hebe and many other friends.
+ The song "Talibán del Amor" is selected to be included in the Colombian film "García".
+ Currently mixing new record due (Nov. 2009)
+ The future? They will continue writing, recording, realising new songs and playing live. Keep in touch, there is more to come from Dead Menems!!!!!
