Influences

Influences lists are boring. Various randoms have compared us to these lovely people:

Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Placebo, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Ministry, McLusky, Ladytron, Early Garbage, Big Black, Skinny Puppy, Sneaker Pimps, At the Drive In, Marilyn Manson, Muse, Atari Teenage Riot, Primal Scream, Rammstein, The Stooges, Combichrist, Selfish Cunt, Aphex Twin, My Bloody Valentine, Daft Punk, The Cramps, Mad Capsule Markets.

Our 10 songs for the week are:

* Electric Wizard - I, the WItchfinder

* Company Flow - The Last Good Sleep

* Kid Creole & The Coconuts - Stool Pigeon

* Foetus - Bedrock

* Stolen Babies - Spill

* Sparklegash - Thump the Coo

* Daughters - Nurse, Would You Please Prep the Patient For Sexual Doctor

* The Chap - I Saw Them

* Behemoth - Nephilim Rising

* Cutting Pink with Knives - All Our Older Spirits and Ghosts

Sounds LikeAggressive rock spliced with electro, break-beats, industrial, goth and hip-hop. But we construct a interesting approach of rousing beats, crunchy riffs and a menacing male/female vocal delivery.

   About Dead on the Live Wire

Gigging around Scotland for two years now – they landed their first international shows in their first year playing at CBGB’s and the Underscore in New York and will be playing shows in Berlin this coming August.

Gaining momentum in the underground scene they have played with cult bands such as Attrition and international industrial acts such as Psydoll. They have also supported Kerrang award nominees My Passion on their Scottish tour and upcoming acts such as The Pistolas and Broken Records.

Style. Trash. Glamour!

"Male-female ferocious noise duo who deploy Sonic Youth-esque atonal vocals, Nine Inch Nails guitar crunch and industrial clatter to deafening effect." - The Skinny

"What absolute darlings. Very now, very hip, very I just took lots of drugs and murdered my sleeping family, then passed out and forgot I'd done it and decided to start a band! Superb, just what the youth of this country needs, a bit of good old fashioned bad weather with a dash of proper British electro-glamour-punk. Huzzah for all that, I say!" - Bannerman’s Review

"All post-punk industrial glee wrapped up in ominous, evil old drum machine beats and a glare'n'stare look to kill for. Lovely!" - Elyzium Aberdeen

"A less whiney RATM coupled with the sneary and sleazy vocal affectations of Mark E Smith." - The Critic

"Daft Punk gone metal!" - The 13th Note

“An entirely unique entity full of menacing quirks and distorted hooks, complimented by a male/female vocal dynamic” Scotsman

"Very now, very hip. We need a bit of good old fashioned British electro-glamour-punk" Nightnews

“Emo-tronic punk-rock elephants"Forest Café, Edinburgh

Hello,

North Atlantic Oscillation's "Hollywood Has Ended", from the forthcoming album Grappling Hooks, is featured in this month's Police Box compilation from TenTracks. It's here:

http://www.tentracks.co.uk/channel/the-police-box/the-police-box-april-09

In case you haven't heard, TenTracks is a new music delivery service where you can buy exclusive 10-track compilations for £1, i.e. a mere 10p per track.

This month NAO are in the illustrious company of the excellent Found, Orkestra Del Sol, Fence Collective luminaries James Yorkston and King Creosote and exactly 5 others. Once again, that's £1 for ALL TEN TRACKS. Not bad, really.
