  • Bio

DEAD REMAINS is a strong name in the north-east-German Death Metal scene since many years. Five individuals playing Death Metal like the old masters teaches them long time ago. No keyboards, no breakdowns, no core, no emo-bullshit!! Just a bunch of punches and grooves in addition to a sick atmosphere that kicks your ass and teethes!! Who ever saw them live on stage will know what this meant to be. The Story began in 1991, as blood young teenagers had the idea to form a band. It was a start with great ambitions and less abilities of course. So the band rehearsed hardly and learned from elder musicians to become better. After several years, the first line up changed nearly completely. Front man Thomas was looking for a new line up. One year later, in 1996, the quest was over. He gathered a drummer, two guitar players and a bass player in a new, own practice room. Rehearsals went on. Furthermore the band was organizing band meetings with all relevant metal bands from the northern towns at DEAD REMAINS practice house. Gigs was planned, gigs was played there. New relationships where born. For these meetings over ten bands and over hundred of people showed up without any advertisement. DEAD REMAINS recorded the first demo-tape in 1998, with a friend from a black metal band named Weligrad as engineer. That tape was limited on 200 items. "The unloved stepsons of god" was not just a sweet title, the tapes was sold out soon, as the band went on to play live massively. After the next line up change, DEAD REMAINS toured Poland together with partners in crime Perverse. It is unnecessary to say that this touring through new territories where a huge success for the band. "The unloved stepsons of god" needed to be re-released on CD and another 200 copies where sold out. And many tours will follow… Until the year 2003, DEAD REMAINS toured, rehearsed, played live again, changed members and conquered a solid, loyal fan base. Then it was time to record a new demo CD. "Deathless Torture" was released in the fall of 2003 in spite of its moderate quality (the budget was ridiculous!), 500 copies was sold out soon. Most of them were sold by live gigs. For the next years, the band played live massively, had gigs and small tours through Poland, Italy, Denmark and Germany as well. Some line up changes happened. Furthermore the band founded two festivals: The "Tunes Of Death" Open Air, and the "Mainstream Hat Fertig" indoor festival. Beside of that, a lot of single gigs with well known underground names. In may 2011 DEAD REMAINS released the Album "Conscious Cremation". A permanent line up was found and is hungry to kill live!!
