Dead Ringer began in the year 2003 when Joel Monet (Vox/Guitar) and John Baxley (Guitars) decided to combine their abilities and began to write and record music together. Needless to say, the sound has more than slightly evolved over the past few years. The original line-up went through band members as if they were meals, former musicians including some of the following: Chase Jaynes (Bass), Claire Carson (Drums), and Daniel Krenn (Drums). After many consecutive failed attempts towards bursting onto the "scene," the group decided to take a hiatus. Many moons further into oblivion, Joel Monet met Kevin Bullard (former guitarist) at the park and formed the fabled band, Hereafter (note: Joel Monet played bass in Hereafter, not guitar) who later signed on Raymond Gilstrap (Rapper). After auditioning Wesley Wynn (former drummer), Hereafter gained momentum only to take a severe plunge for the worse when the group became a tad cliquey (note - needless to say, Dead Ringer harbors no ill will towards any former bandmates). After the departure of Joel Monet from the band, they adopted the new name of Afterlife. This went on a few months while Joel and Raymond continued to write and record together for solo (or duo) projects. After a couple of shows with Afterlife, Raymond and Joel were ready to start with a clean slate and create the sonic fusion of musicianship that is today known as Dead Ringer...adopting Seth Roddy (Keyboards) and John Toelaer (Drums). As far as new musicians is concerned, we are now interested in a bass player, a drummer, and perhaps a keyboardist.

SO PLEASE CONTACT US ON MY SPACE AND LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING. WE ARE SEEKING A BASSIST AND A DRUMMER TO COMPLETE OUR BAND SO WE CAN GET OUT AND DO SOME SHOWS.
