I'm super busy promoting Volume 2 right now, so the website stuff is gathering a little dust.
The etsy.com store is slowly reopening as I photograph some merchandise. The last promotional thing I have to do is tomorrow night, after that the squids will return.
Thanks for your continued support and occasional patience!
This is a 22 day show, we are open every day until 6 pm on Dec. 24th. THURSDAY, Dec 4th is our opening party, from 6-10pm. There's word of a keg, so come on out.
This show not only represenst a lot of work for me as an artist preparing my squids and product for the show, but a TON of work for me as the Blue Genie Office Manager. I've really clocked some hours wrangling artists, writing advertising copy, budgeting for the show, etc etc. So, I would love it if y'all come out and see what I've been organizing for the past 5 months!
If you're in Austin, you should come check out the East Austin Studio Tour this weekend. Artists' studios in East Austin will be open to the public for you to view how we work. It's Saturday (22) and Sunday (23) from 10 am-5pm.
The studio I work for, Blue Genie Art Industries, will be showcasing our latest works, as well as the works of it's staffers. I'll have my latest cephalopod creations for sale, as well as Dead Squirrel Girl Merchandise. You can look at the website for a map, and pick up a guidebook at the studios. We are number 89a on the map.
Here's my latest friends, the Chambered Nautilus:
Also, Dead Squirrel Girl Volume 2 looks to have a spring 2009 release date. The reason why there haven't been any updates to the website lately is because I am trying to focus on getting the book done. When I get more pages done, expect a huge website update!
