Originally from Acton MA (just outside of Boston), I graduated from Syracuse University, majoring in TV/Radio/Film and minoring in Music Industry, and I've been in the 'Cuse since. I was born in Tarzana, CA with a profound binaural hearing loss. Hence the name DeafGeoff. Don't know (very much) sign language, but you'd be surprised how often people forget I actually hear only about 10% as well as the average person.

I'm the morning show producer for Marty and Shannon at HOT 107.9 in Syracuse. I write news, play ridiculous clips, sing/rap badly or put on a speedo and run around CNY. Listen to 107.9 Monday through Saturday from 5:30-10am. And yes, I'm really deaf. Click here to listen to Deaf The Halls! Why radio? you ask. Well, for starters, I love music. I took piano lessons for a year so I could learn to play one song to impress a girl. Didn't work, so I gave up the keys and picked up two turntables and a microphone, and the rest is history.

I make mix CDs that will break your heart and I am constantly planning my next great adventure in mixology, a continuous DJ mix album I fear I will never complete. But I do spin at parties, dances, weddings, bars, clubs, etc in addition to dabbling in the occasional remix and music production. I like to have fun, so I play everything from big beat to big bands, country to crunk, hip-hop to hard rock... if you're interested in booking me for your party/dance/event, just e-mail me.

How would I describe myself personally? I can be cute and funny, I can be annoying and obnoxious. I bastardize compulsively. I'm sometimes a workaholic, especially when I'm trying to ignore my problems. I hate smokers and posers. Don't be a follower. I'm not perfect, but if you can't have me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best. I like freckles, Sobe, kinky sex and big smiles. I love the little things, like the drum fill on "Somnambulist" (:58-1:00) or the scratch solo in "What I Got"... but I get caught up in the details so much, I do sometimes miss the bigger picture. I've got baggage, so hopefully yours matches mine. Friends say I can't be described in one word and you shouldn't be able to either.
